Chapter 2

Theresa POV The soft rays of the sun were teasing my face, and the chirping of the birds was urging me to open my eyes and embrace the new and good morning. I slowly opened my eyes with a yawn. Immediately, a swirl of fresh air blew past me through my bedroom window, causing a smile to form on my face. "What a beautiful morning" I mumbled and sat up in my bed and stretched my arms and legs. My gaze went directly to the bandage on my hand and the pain in the back of my head came kicking in, reminding me of the reality. A loud scream escaped my mouth. "It wasn't a dream, was it?" my body started shivering as I recalled the scene of last night. "No, it isn't" came a thick muscular voice followed by the closing of my bathroom door. My gaze went to the half-naked male who had just stepped out of a fresh shower. Another scream came out of my mouth but it was stopped by a hand on my mouth. I frantically looked to the left to find the source of the hand but to find none other than the stranger who had just come out of the shower. My eyes widened in disbelief. He was clearly standing so far away from me a second ago, but now his one hand was on my mouth and the other was rubbing my back to calm me down. Maybe he was an athlete, I thought at that time. My head was spinning. I don't know how I could calm down after feeling insecure in my own house. I struggled to break free from his hold even when I knew that his strength was greater than mine plus his extraordinary speed was making me fall in another shake. I had to calm down to figure out the situation. When he saw me sitting still, he put his hand away from my mouth. I looked directly into his eyes. The pitch-black eyes, with thin lines of red in his iris, were looking familiar but I couldn't pinpoint where I had seen those eyes. I slid a little backward to expand my vision. The one sitting on my bed wasn't an average male, but a Greek God that walked straight out of a magazine. Pointed nose, sharp jawline, slight beard, fair complexion, beauty bones with six mouth-watering abs. He ran a hand through his wet hair to move them away from his forehead. I was suddenly becoming jealous of the water droplets on his body. Water trickled down all the way from his face to his neck, then to his beauty bones, then to his abs, and then …… "Stop. Don't start something which even I can't stop. I swear my patience and self-control are hanging by a thread thinner than a strand of your hair" his voice was dark, filled with thick lust. His eyes became completely black. I gulped and moved my gaze all over the room. The cold temperature in my room felt high as if someone turned on the heater. It took me a while to come back to my senses. "Who are you?" I turned back to look at him. This time he was wearing his clothes. "Your savior," he said casually. "My savior? I don't remember anyone coming for my assistance when I was fighting with the wolves alone" I raised my eyebrows. Questions were swamping my mind. Who was this deadly handsome stranger? As he said if he was my savior then how was I in my own bedroom? What happened after the wolves circled me? I felt like I was forgetting something important. "Do you remember how you passed out and how did you get that wound?" The stranger asked me to stand across the bed. I examined the neatly done bandage on my hand and tried to remember what happened. Shortly the whole events of last night came flooding into my head, making the fear spread across my body like a fire. My hands started shivering, no matter how I wished it was a dream but it was a reality. I saw a werewolf. Then the query arose, how did this stranger save me, did he kill all those wolves? How is he unscratched? "Hey, are you okay?" my eyes darted to the male across me. Now looking at him, his figure also looked familiar. "Who is he?" I questioned myself but decided to go with the flow and find answers from him. "Yeah, I am okay. I remember a wolf bit me and then I passed out. However, why am I at home?" my words were filled with seriousness. It was no joke to wake up in your bedroom with a stranger in it, also when you remember not giving your address to him. I saw his slow steps in my direction. "I doubt you don't remember the event before you passed out" My eyes widened at his words. "How do you know?" I uttered without even thinking. This time the stranger was right in front of me on the bed. His face was so close to me that his breath was fanning my sweaty face. "How do you think I know, my bride?" His words clicked in my mind and popped out the picture of a big black wolf and his black and red eyes. I backed up into the bed but his hand on my waist stopped me. "Seems like you already guessed my identity" A big smirk was plastered clearly on his face. "Please don't kill me, I swear, I won't tell anyone about you" Tears streamed down my face and my body shivered uncontrollably. He connected his forehead with mine "Calm down, baby girl, calm down. I won't kill you, if I really wanted to do so then you won't even get a chance to know that I am a werewolf" I don't know why but his words send warmth and comfort in my body. His hand on my waist was releasing a sense of security instead of fear. I wanted to trust his words but my mind was saying otherwise. "You didn't kill me, why? You wanted revenge or you wanna make my life miserable?" I couldn't figure out his intentions. "I will never hurt you, baby girl. You are always safe with me", he looked directly into my eyes as if he meant every single word he said. "You" he mumbled while putting his head in the crook of my neck. He took a long breath as if inhaling my scent. I tried to push him away as I hadn't had a chance to take a shower since I came back from that forest but he didn't pull away, instead, his grip tightened on my waist. "Me? Don't tell me you are making some wolfie claim on me" I narrowed my eyes at him as I recalled that in the novels most wolves do so when they find a girl of their liking. "Wolfie claim?" his chest vibrated as he let out a small laugh. "You surely have a huge imagination, baby girl. I don't need any claim because you are mine" As those words ended I felt his lips on my neck. As his lips brushed against my neck, a shiver ran down my spine, sending conflicting sensations throughout my body. It was a mix of fear, curiosity, and a strange allure that I couldn't deny. The room seemed to be filled with an electric tension as if the air itself was charged with something primal and forbidden. My mind raced, struggling to comprehend the intensity of the moment. I knew I should push him away, and demand an explanation. Still, there was something undeniably captivating about his presence, something that drew me closer despite my instincts screaming at me to retreat. He sensed my hesitation and pulled back slightly, his dark black eyes searching mine, searching for permission and understanding. "I know this is overwhelming for you," he whispered, his voice husky with a mixture of desire and restraint. "But there's something between us, something beyond our control. I can feel it, and I believe you can too." His words struck a chord deep within me, resonating with the inexplicable connection I felt towards him. It was as if a magnetic force had brought us together, entwining our fates in a way I couldn't comprehend. When I didn't speak up he opened his mouth again “I promise that I will answer all your questions. But, can you trust me enough to let me explain?" His voice was gentle, laced with a raw vulnerability that I hadn't expected from a werewolf. I hesitated, caught between the pull of his presence and the need for clarity. Part of me wanted to succumb to the intense attraction, to explore the depths of this connection. But another part, the skeptic within me, warned of the dangers that lay beneath the surface. "Explain, tell me what's happening". I gave him the chance. A small smile stretched across his lips, he pushed my hair to the back of my ear and caressed my face. "I will explain it to you, but not now. If I stay one more minute in this room, then the consequences will be a lot more for you to handle. We both need to calm down at the moment. I promise that I will get back to you soon", he kissed my forehead and, within a swift motion, he jumped out of my window, leaving an unexpected feeling of loss in me. My mind was a mess but I knew that this mess was not something that I could solve in hours or minutes by myself, so, for starters, I decided to take a shower, insert some food in my system and go to university.
