Holy Moon Goddess

I went looking for Minerva but she wasn’t at her house. I sniffed the air for her and caught her scent. Making my way towards the Forest I found her sitting on a large Boulder looking up towards the sky. I watched her for awhile. Her face was tired and worn from old age. Her eyes were blue and wise. Her long silver hair was up in a neat bun.

“ I know you are there Simon. Come here so we can talk. I’ve been waiting for this day to come for many years now.” Minerva said to me without ever moving from her spot.

“ what are you looking at in the sky?” I asked.

“ I’m looking at the moon of course. All great things are given to us by the Moon Goddess. She gives us our power and strength and blesses us with mates.” She turned to look at me now.

“ you are special Simon and so is your mate. Together you will be the Sun and Moon that balances our kind. You have special gifts and your wolf is as old as time. Your mother had special gifts as well, but sadly her time was cut short.” Her eyes looked sad at the mention of my mother

“ our kind has been walking the earth since the dawn of the first sun. The Moon Goddess welcomed the sun and made room for the creatures that grew from it. Mortals, vampires, witches etc. we all lived cohesively for generations. Many many years ago there was a great battle between werewolves and vampires. The witches chose to stay impartial and protected the humans from being affected. So much blood was shed on both sides. Finally thanks to your great great Grandfather Alpha Tomid we were able to make peace with the vampires.. for a time. There were vampires of old blood and who still resented us and broke the treaty. Most of the werewolf packs across the world have integrated into human towns and live simple lives. They have domesticated themselves. The Mountain, Forest and River packs are the last three remaining who still hold on to our past and practice the old magic. Your mother was so special like I said. She was actually promised to Alpha Stone but she too chose to follow her heart and stay with her Goddess given mate.”

My mouth dropped at her last revelation about my mother. She was promised to Alpha Stone? That explained some of his animosity towards our pack and my father.

“Minerva, I know my wolf is special. What can I do?” There was no time to waste. I needed to know.

Minerva was quite for a moment before responding. “ you my boy will have a physical strength that no wolf could ever surpass. You will have a gentle heart and fair judgement .There is a connection that few can make with nature as deeply as you will. Simon, you are a leader and I fear there is another storm brewing and we will all need you.”

Minerva stood and shifted before my eyes, she howled at the moon and ran back towards the pack to her home.

I walked around for awhile before finding myself at the river. The water had always spoken to me. As it flowed my mind began to clear. I needed to train with Tyler and make learn more about our history. I felt Rajat whimpering inside me missing our mate so I shifted and headed for home.

Eva

My eyes fluttered open and it took me a minute to realize where I was. I sat up and looked around the room. There was a deep urgency I felt to be with my mate so I got up and made my way accords the hall to Simons room.

Before I could knock on the door it swung open.

“Good morning!” I said blushing. I hated when I did that, I could feel the heat in my cheeks.

“Good morning my sweet.” He said and kissed the top of my forehead.

I could feel the pleasure I got from his touch radiating down through my body. I knew if we didn’t mate soon that I would go in to heat and that would be bad for both of us.

When werewolves go into heat their primal instincts take over and people can get hurt. I don’t want to rush the issue but I knew it needed to happen soon.

“ I was wondering if I could stay with you tonight.” The words were but a whisper from my lips. I looked in to eyes and I could see them turn black. He knew why I was asking.

“ of course you can, but only if you are sure you want to.”

“Simon, I know what must be done. I will go into heat soon if we don’t. I’m not a fragile flower you know.” I was getting irritated and embarrassed at once.

Simone giggled and ran his fingers through my hair. “ come to breakfast with me then we will meet with Tyler in my study. The arrangements have been for the challenge.”

We ate rather quickly and crossed the hall to Simons study. Tyler walked in and I could tell by the look I his face he wasn’t excited to share his news.

“ what’s wrong Tyler?” Simon growled.

“ alpha, the challenge will take place in two days and the Forest Pack arena. As you know a challenger can have someone step in his place and Alpha Stone has decided to do just that. You will be fighting Titus.” Tyler winced.

“For the love of Goddess!” Simon growled again.

“ of course he would do this! Titus is the best fighter in all three packs!”

I could see the stress on Simons face and he began pacing the room.

“ Simon I have seen you shift, he won’t know what hit him.” I replied.

It was Simons turn to blush as he looked from me to Tyler. Tyler looked confused and he looked from Simon to me waiting for an explanation.

“ It would seem I have been blessed from the Moon Goddess with a special wolf that descends from the moon herself. Rajat and I have a lot to learn about each other. Tyler I need you to train with me the rest of the afternoon. Let’s go someplace away from the pack so I can shift in secret. We will need to leave in the morning for the Forest Pack.” Simon then turned to me and gave me a kiss on the forehead. “ Eva I will send a guard with you and to town and ask Holly to go with you. Holly is Tyler’s mate and I think you will get along well. Until everything is settled I would like a guard with you at all times. You don’t know our lands yet.”

I wasn’t surprised he wanted a guard with me and I was excited to meet Holly. I wanted a friend desperately! I could see that Simon was linking someone and then I heard a knock at the door.

“Come in.” Simon said looking at me with a smile.

In walked a very tall and noticeably muscular man. His hair was black as night and it was long but pulled up. He looked like a Viking. His arms were massive and I could see the muscles through his shirt and his beard was full. He had tribal tattoos up and down both arms as well.

“ this is Reid and he will be your guard. He will be with you whenever I can’t be. Holly will meet you both at the pack house entrance and I will see you tonight at dinner.” Simon nodded at Reid and walked out of the room with Tyler to go train.

I looked up to Reid and he was starting me.

“ so, I guess we should get to know each other! I’m Eva!” I extended my hand out to him and he looked puzzled.

“Luna, my job is to keep you safe. We best get to town.” Reid stepped away from the door so I could pass through and he followed behind me.

I would get him to relax one day I thought to myself. We made our way down the stairs and there was a woman standing by the door. She was a little shorter then me and I knew she was Holly. Her hair was shoulder length and as Crimson in color as blood. She had a Beautiful smile and waved at us enthusiastically.

“ Hello Luna Eva! It’s so nice to meet you! When Simon asked Tyler to have me take you shopping I was so excited!” She hugged me and I could tell she meant what she said.

“ thank you so much Holly! It’s so nice to meet you.” Reid rolled his eyes at us and got in the drivers seat of the car.

We continued to talk on the way to town and I could tell we would be beat friends.

There were only a few shops but we managed to hit every one of them up and I now had a wardrobe fitting of the role of Luna. I also picked out a black silk night dress that I thought about wearing tonight for Simon. My checks turned red when Holly saw me put it on the counter.

“ oh Eva! It’s so sexy! Are you going to mate tonight?” Hollys eyes gleamed and she giggled as we bagged up our items.

It was almost dinner time when we got back to the pack house. Reid helped Holly and I carry all of my things upstairs. I wasn’t sure which room I should unpack in so I told them to set everything in the spare room for now.

I changed in to a soft knee length dress. It was pink and seemed more appropriate for dinner. I had taken a shower and curled my hair. The long blonde curls bounced as I walked down the stairs. I entered the dinning room and Simon wasn’t there yet. I sat in the seat he normally pulled out for me and waited.

Twenty minutes had gone by and I had started to worry. I tried linking Simon but his block was up. I knew training for the challenge was important but I really thought he would be here. The cook had been waiting awhile to serve dinner and I finally told the maid I would eat alone.

She brought out a plate with salmon and rice and a delightful vegetable medley. I must meet the cook one of these days I said to myself. This pack was small but humble and it already felt like home.

After I finished eating I waited a few more minutes before I decided I’d had enough. I could feel my emotions twirling inside me as my desire to mate grew. Werewolves were very dependent on their mating bond and the connection between our mates were so much stronger then humans. Many werewolves didn’t survive the heartache of losing a mate but some did find a second chance. Usually the second mating bond wasn’t as strong but people could find happiness.

If I would’ve been forced to reject Simon as my mate and been married off to Blaze there would’ve been an eternal pain inside me. That wasn’t the natural way werewolves lived their lives and I still couldn’t believe my parents were ok with it. I would’ve been nothing more then a breeding machine and producing pup after pup for Blaze.

I walked outside for awhile and of course Reid was right behind me. I had asked him if he knew where Simon was but he just looked at me. The sun had just about set and the stars were starting to sparkle in the night sky. It was starting to get chilly so I made my way pack to the pack house.

As I entered the front door I saw him standing there. Simon was at the bottom of the stairs and he turned to me as I walked through the door.

“I am so sorry, I completely lost track of time! Did you get something to eat?” Simon looked worried.

I folded my arms and answered him “ yes I did eat, I tried linking you but you had your block up.”

“I’m sorry Eva, Reid you are relieved for the night. Thank you for staying with her.” Simon grabbed my hand and we made our way up the stairs. “ I’d like to take a shower and grab a snack from the kitchen. Would you like me to link you when I’m back?” He said in almost a whisper. There was a huskiness to his voice and I knew he wanted me as badly as I wanted him.

“ that’s fine, I’ll go to my room for now.” I turned from him knowing I was blushing. I quickly walked into my room and shut the door. I went over to my vanity and looked into the mirror. I looked at my reflection and decided to add a little make up. I didn’t usually wear it but I was getting nervous. I brushed through my hair and waited to Simon to call me to his room.
