Shanaya and Pranav left Siddhant's cabin and walked further, side by side, quietly. Even so, both of them had wanted to begin a conversation desperately. Finally, after contemplating her sentences, Shanaya began by thanking him profusely for helping her and Abella out. While doing so, she accidentally hugged Pranav and then realized her action when he didn’t hug her back. Pranav stiffened in the hug as even though he was used to hugging, in fact, he loves to hug, but she caught him out of the blue like that, his mind froze. She pulled away from the hug and apologized to him. Pranav was actually quite amused to see such a behaviour from her.
“It's ok Shanaya! Chill! I'm cool with everything. And about the help, I stepped in only because I saw how genuine both of you are. So, not a big deal” replied Pranav tranquilly. Shanaya was quite surprised to see the vast difference between Pranav and his brother. The elder brother was extremely hot tempered while the younger one was cooler than a cucumber.
“He’s the complete opposite to what that guy was. Anyways, why am I even thinking about this? This has got nothing to do with me. For now I'll have to find the team I'll be working with”
Pranav couldn’t help but to chuckle when he heard the comment from her. He had heard this from many people, but this woman in front of him, she sounded extremely cute. Though he knew that she accidentally thought out loud, he was amused by how innocent she was being. Just then, a thought to tease her crossed his mind. He wondered how she would react if she realized that she spoke out her thoughts earlier and plainly stated, “I think there's no need for you to be looking for the team. I'm your team leader, remember?”
“Huh? Did I say that loud?” Shanaya looked dumbfounded at Pranav.
“Gosh! You are really cute!” Pranav chuckled as he saw her turning red in embarrassment but before she could say anything, they saw Abella walkig out of Siddhant’s cabin with a huge pile of books.
Shanaya immediately jogged towards Abella to lend her a helping hand, followed by Pranav. They went to Siddhant's team's workplace and placed the whole pile on an empty table. Pranav left them after showing Shanaya the workplace of their team which was right next to that workplace. He told her to be there in 10 minutes after talking to her bestie. Abella was quite shocked to see Shanaya's boss behaving like that.
“What are all this?” asked a curious Shanaya while peeking into the manual.
“My homework! My jinxed fate! My ticket to hell!”, Abella began ranting in her usual drama-queen mode.
“But what are you supposed to do with these?”, Shanaya asked further in confusion.
Abella renacted the whole thing that Siddhant had instructed her in the cabin earlier with the same attitude and action. She even did the finishing touch of his by leaning closer towards Shanaya whom she made sit on her chair earlier.
Shanaya chuckled seeing the way Abella had behaved even if she felt pity for her, but, Abella being intimidated by someone was surely something the entire college would find amusing and humorous. She wished her good luck and rushed towards her workplace leaving Abella alone in there. Abella took a quick look around the workplace. It was clean and neat, giving signs that it hadn’t been used for a long time. Even if it was being used, the person who uses it must have taken a great deal to clean it that neatly every single day. There was not even a single thread on the carpeted flooring. She sat in front of the pile and examined it, wondering where to start and which one to do first. After lots of struggle, she took the manual which was relatively thinner than the rest and began with it. She was so engrossed in it since fashion designing is what she had always dreamt of. She was genuinely reading it word by word, paragraph by paragraph and page by page while taking notes of the important points in her personalized pink unicorn notebook. She was totally indulged into her homework that she had no idea of the pair of blue eyes that was set on her.
Siddhant, still being unable to focus on his work, left to grab himself a cup of espresso. While he was on his way back to his cabin, he decided to take the lobger route, purposely as he wanted to check on Abella. He was about to enter the workplace when he saw her intently reading and taking notes from the manual. Hence, he stood by the doorstep and continued to watch her. He wanted to be sure if she was really doing the work or was just pretending to be engrossed in it. Much to Siddhant’s surprise, and disbelief, I might add, she was indeed genuinely hooked with the studying as despite him standing there for about a few minutes, she hadn’t once looked up at him. Siddhant was impressed by the dedication she was putting in the homework he had given her. Just when he was about to go, he noticed how the tip of her tongue was squeezed between her plump lips while her head titlted to the left as she went on jotting the notes. He smiled looking at her childish antics. Suddenly, he felt all his anger disappear. He felt serene. She felt familiar again, but he failed couldn’t understand why she seemed so familiar to him for all he knows that they had never met before.
“I think I can watch her doing this all day long. She's cute!” Siddhant suddenly thought, then upon hearing himself, he wanted to bang his head on any hard surface to get his thinking straight again.
“Wait, what? Fhat the wuck is wrong with you Siddhant? She's just your intern. Now stop checking her out. She means nothing, okay?” Siddhant stressed out the word nothing to himself.
Chanda passed by the corridor and was a little surprised to look at him behaving very indifferently. In fact, he was talking to himself. Has The Siddhant Singh Oberoi ever done that? She finally mustered up courage and asked, “Mr.Oberoi, are you alright? Should I bring you your medicine box?”
“What? No, I'm fine. I... just needed my espresso” A started Siddhant swiftly replied as he flicked his perfectly gelled up hair, bringing more volume to them and left to his cabin.
Abella looked up at that time and saw him doing the hair flick as he left.
“Whoa! Look at that! Attitude! I know he's the boss but this much of attitude, not good yaar. Such an arrogant perso he is. And his blue eyes, it was so scary just now. Is he really the same person I saw in the traffic signal the other day? He seemed much serene then. I wonder if he roams around in this office with that anger.”
Chanda came there and wished her good luck in completing Siddhant's homework, but before Chanda could leave, Abella stopped her as she was curious about something.
“By the way, Ms.Chanda, can I know why our workplace is so empty? I mean like there's only me over here. Where are the rest of the team?”
“Actually Ms.Abella, for now, there are only three of us in this team. You, me and Siddhant Sir. There are no other members. They either quit or got fired.” Chanda explained to her politely, with a modest smile on her face.
“Oh Jesus Christ! This means I'm done! I'm finished!”, she started to worry.
“No, listen to me! I saw your final project work and all your assignments earlier from your lecturer and I must admit that your work had been very impressive. I had to put you in this team because of that. Mr.Oberoi will definitely appreciate your work and maybe who knows, his attitude might also change towards the better. I mean, towards you, once he gets to know what a perfectionist you are when it comes to working.”
“Hopefully”, said a worried Abella.
As soon as the office hours were over, Shanaya came to Abella's workplace to get back home with her. Abella, by that time had finished one manual and was about to enter the second one. She decided to take it back with her to home. On their way back home, Shanaya was enthusiastically telling Abella about how amazing her entire team was and of course her team leader as well, Mr. Pranav Singh Oberoi. When Shanaya asked Abella about her team members, Abella thought to herself when there's no team at all, about whom I should tell you about and facepalmed herself.
However, she pulled the most convincing cynical smile she could at the moment and after inhaling sharply, she began, “My team, is juts super ‘prestantious’! You know what? You will be burning out of jealousy once you hear about it! My team is made up of three and only three individuals. We are lead by the Doryphore Agelast Oberoi. The second member is his crazy secretary or personal assistant, I’m not quite sure, but I can definitely tell that she’s crazy because she just obeys him blindly and the third and final member is me. This loely lost princess who seeks for her one true love, her very own Prince Charming, her Mr.Perfect!”
Abella poured out her heart and made a silly face once she was done, earning a heartful laughter from Shanaya. A few seconds later, Abella joined in and they were both laughing their hearts out!
