CHAPTER 52
Brad ran into the ER entrance and stopped in front of the reception area. “I’m looking for a patient. Her last name is Peters. Why in the world couldn’t he remember Susannah’s sister’s name? He wasn’t thinking straight.
He stared at the woman, hoping she could read his mind. “The Peters girl?” he repeated. “She came in here earlier tonight. Can I go see her?”
The woman stuck a pencil behind her ear. “Visiting hours are over, I’m afraid.”
“I’m not visiting, this is …” He stopped. He couldn’t technically call this an emergency, no matter how important it was in his mind. “Listen, it won’t take me longer than a minute. I need to talk to her sister. Please. I don’t even have to go in the room. If you could just let them know I’m here.”
