Short novel: how I long to be loved 😊😳
Emily was a girl who longed to be loved. She was adopted at a young age, but her new family didn’t treat her well. They would often compare her to their biological children, reminding her that she was different and didn’t belong. At school, things weren't much better. Her classmates would tease her, calling her names and making fun of her clothes. Each day felt like a battle, and Emily often found herself feeling alone and sad. Despite her hardships, Emily had a beautiful smile that could light up any room. She was kind and caring, always helping others despite her own struggles. She loved art and spent hours drawing in her sketchbook, hoping to express the love she wished she could feel. But every time she showed her work to her classmates, they would laugh and tell her it was silly. One day, as Emily sat in the school cafeteria, she noticed a new boy sitting alone at a table in the corner. He looked out of place, like he didn’t belong. His name was Alex, and he had an interesting way of looking at the world. Emily felt a spark of curiosity about him. What was his story? Why was he alone? Over the next few weeks, Emily observed Alex from a distance. He rarely talked to anyone and seemed to be shy. Emily wanted to get to know him but wasn't sure how to start. One afternoon, as she was leaving school, she found him sitting on a bench, sketching something in his notebook. “Hi, I’m Emily,” she said, her heart racing. “Hi,” Alex replied, looking up with a warm smile. “I’m Alex.” They began to talk, discovering they both loved drawing. Emily was surprised to learn that Alex had just moved to town and didn’t have any friends. They quickly became friends, bonding over their art and shared experiences of feeling out of place. As weeks passed, Emily found herself looking forward to their time together. They would meet after school to draw and share their hopes and dreams. Emily told Alex about her family and how she longed for acceptance and love. Alex listened carefully, and one day, he revealed a secret. “I might look broke,” he said with a shy smile, “but my family is actually very wealthy. I just wanted to experience school like a normal kid, without the pressure of money.” Emily's eyes widened. She had no idea that the boy she had grown so fond of was rich. She began to feel nervous about how others would react if they knew. But Alex was kind and genuine, and that made Emily feel special. As their friendship blossomed, whispers started spreading in school. Some of the popular kids, led by a girl named Sarah, noticed Alex spending time with Emily. Sarah had always been the queen bee, and she disliked anyone who threatened her status. Seeing Alex, the new boy, getting close to Emily made her furious. “Why is he hanging out with her?” Sarah scoffed to her friends. “Doesn’t he know she’s a nobody?” maybe he is a poor orphan like Emily one of her followers said trying to please Sarah.... you are right two orphan and broke people what a good match *as they all laughed and left* Emily tried to ignore the hurtful comments, but it was hard. One day, Sarah and her group decided to confront Emily during lunch. They approached her table with sneers. “What a surprise, Emily! Still drawing your silly pictures?” Sarah mocked, pointing at Emily’s sketchbook. Emily felt her face flush with shame. “Leave me alone, Sarah. I’m not bothering you.” “Maybe we should tell Alex the truth about you. He deserves to know what kind of girl he’s really getting close to,” Sarah continued with a smirk. Just then, Alex walked into the cafeteria. He had seen everything and felt his heart sink. Emily looked hurt, and he didn’t like how Sarah treated her. He decided it was time to step in. “Sarah!” he called out, approaching with confidence. “Emily is kind and talented. I don’t care what people say about her. I like who she is.” The cafeteria went silent. Everyone turned to see what was happening. Sarah looked shocked, and her friends were taken aback. Emily couldn’t believe what Alex just said; she felt hope swell in her heart. “Why would you say that?” Sarah challenged. “You don’t even know her!” “I know enough,” Alex replied firmly. “She shows me her art, and it’s beautiful. You might not understand it, but that doesn’t make her less worthy of love and respect.” Emily felt tears prick her eyes. For the first time, someone stood up for her. The crowd began to murmur, some nodding in agreement with Alex. They saw their golden boy defending someone they had always treated poorly. “Maybe if you all looked past your judgments, you’d see how amazing she really is,” Alex added. In that moment, Emily felt something she had longed for—a sense of belonging. The whispers slowly started to change from mockery to admiration. Even some of the students who had once bullied her began to look at her differently. After that day, things changed for Emily. She and Alex drew closer, spending more time together and ignoring the negativity around them. With every passing week, Emily flourished with Alex by her side. His warmth and kindness pierced through her loneliness, and she felt loved for the first time. As for Sarah, the jealousy she felt only fueled her need to bring them down. But Emily had Alex, and together, they were strong enough to face whatever challenges lay ahead. Emily realized that love comes in many forms. With Alex’s friendship, she discovered her own worth. No longer just the girl who longed to be loved, she was now a girl who dared to be herself, supported by the one person who truly saw her.
