CHAPTER 10-THE EXPOSED

The shooter constable pointed a small bottle in his hand to the sky after saying those words. Not long after, the scratch masked man came out to surrender, as he was so afraid to die. The remaining priests can only watch him, eyes wide, as they can't do anything to stop their comrade from surrendering. Then the masked man begged the shooter constable for mercy, so he could get the antidote. The constable asks him to confess everything that he did and also his identity. It appears that he was a priest as well, just like the one that Haruto caught. However, one of the priests standing there immediately shouted that the masked man who had begged for mercy wasn't their comrade. They even said they don’t know this man or where he comes from. However, they forgot about one thing when they were panicking. Eventually, each priest has a tattoo on their right upper back to identify themselves, since there were too many companions. The leader of the priests had them make a tattoo that included the suicide masked man and the one Haruto caught; all of them have tattoos on their backs. One of the constables ripped off that masked man's clothes, and, indeed, the tattoo was there right on his back. The constables' side also asks the remaining priests to take off their clothes to check their backs. However, they refuse. Then a fight broke out between the constables' side and the priest's side, until someone showed up and asked them to stop. Obviously, the priest was the leader and also the king’s advisor. The priest's leader arrogantly threatened the constables, saying he would personally report them to the king for doing improper things at the temple. However, he was mistaken. The constable had already informed the king about the statement from the masked man that they had caught earlier. That's why the constable's side obtained the king's direct approval of the warrant to investigate this matter, whether it's true or not. This time, the priest's leader can't deny it anymore. Then the priest's leader surrenders as he has no choice. However, when one of the constables tried to get him, suddenly, he struck his palms on the constable with inner qi-energy to make that constable fly away and vomit blood. Haruto quickly dashed toward the priest's leader to strike him with his sword, but the priest's leader managed to get away. Then the duel between Haruto and the priest-leader took place there. They both fought equally for some time, but a moment later, Haruto was cornered by the priest's leader, as he was a little stronger than Haruto, until the shooter constable shot the priest's leader in the right shoulder when he was about to strike Haruto. Haruto sees a chance coming, so he quickly strikes the priest's leader with the tip of the sword handle on his chest, causing the priest's leader to take a few steps backward, as he was a little hurt. Moments later, some of the constables try to surround him, but suddenly, he quickly throws some smokebang at the constables' side so he can run away. Soon, the smoke popped up. He quickly ran away from the remaining priests when they saw their leader was trying to escape. The constable divided the constables into two teams: the first tried to catch the priest-leader, and the second tried to catch the remaining priests scattered throughout. Haruto was in charge of chasing the priest's leader until he arrived at the priest's leader's room. After observing for a while, he decided to go in, and he found a hidden door in the wall that led to a tunnel. Haruto and his fellow constables immediately enter the tunnel to check it until they reach the other side. It was a large chamber, and the priest's leader stood in the middle beside a large furnace. In the area, there are some cages containing children who have survived. The priest's leader says something out of nowhere.

Priest-leader: “At last… The pill is finally complete, bwahahaha…”

The constable heard the priest's leader say something about the pill, but they still didn't know what it was all about. Then they saw him swallow the pill in his hand. Not long after, an aura of energy burst out from his body like he was changing into a madman. The constable still doesn't know what is happening, and they shout at him to surrender. Then he asks the constable to come to get him if they can. At that very moment, the constable is already provoked by that madman as they quickly charge to get near to him. Haruto tries to stop his fellows, but no one listens. Just about to get close, the madman suddenly attacks them. The constable's side was no match for that priest-madman as he became more powerful than before. Maybe that's the effect of consuming that pill. After observing for a while and seeing his fellows one by one get beaten, Haruto quickly steps in as well to fight that madman.
