Graduation For All Seniors

1909 Words
Axel POV I turned 18 last month so I knew Lyra was my mate already, being that I am about a month older than her. My birthday was April 25th and I wanted to tell her that we were mates. However, I felt this was a bad time to tell her so I figured I would tell her the morning of her birthday before everyone else came. I had already had my birthday in April, and I found out the day of when she walked into the room and her tantalizing scent hit my nose. Her birthday just so happened to get to land on the 25th of May, and I was so excited to tell her then. I didn't tell her or Misty her wolf yet that she was my mate. I wanted her to find out from the moon goddess herself, but then again I wanted to tell her I already knew, because I did not like to hide things from her. The moon Goddess creates all of us a mate who will match our souls. I am so grateful that Lyra is my match. Another reason why I have not told her is because I don't want her to reject me. I doubt she would reject me, but I still didn't want her to. I want her to be able to come to terms with it on her own time. By allowing this she and Misty will be able to make that choice on their own once we know we are meant to be 100%. I will always love Lyra even if she chooses to be with someone else. Gary has always tried to get her because he knows she can be a powerful Luna & he is power hungry. I honestly hope she chooses me, but I hope by the time he turns 18 & graduates that he will calm down and take his own mate, and let Lyra choose her mate or someone else. If he doesn't calm down any time soon when it comes to Lyra, I will have to ask him to leave the pack. When I do this I will tag him so that no other pack will take him and so they know the crime he committed too. If I do that he will have to go rogue permanently. Most rogues don't make it past the first few years because they are constantly battling other packs or other wolves. Pushing away my worried thoughts Lyra & I head towards the auditorium for graduation. I forgot to bring the step stool that I accidentally left at her house, so I had to help Lyra get out of the truck. I was 6 foot 5 inches, so it didn't bug me that much, but she was tiny at 5 foot 5 inches. I couldn't help but stare at her chocolate curly hair, & how bright her beautiful blush green eyes looked. Her eyes were accented more due to her make-up and dress. I set her down on the ground, and she knew something was off about me, because all I could do was hold her and stair at her longer. She smacked my arm to get my attention.......... Sorry, you just look so beautiful. You remind me a lot of your mother. I know she would be so proud of you and how far you have come. After a few more moments of sentimental moments we went in & put on our caps & gowns. Before we knew it the graduation ceremony had started and it was our turn to go First. Principal Huckly handed us our diplomas, shook our hands, and gave us hugs. I made my way to the steps I saw Lyra trying to walk down the steps her body starts to wobble. I turned around and scooped her up so quickly that I guess I spooked her. All I could feel was her head in the crook of my neck and she was holding on tight. I set her down slowly and held her by her waist for a few minutes before I let go. Even though we were werewolves Lyra was as clumsy as they come. I held her hand & had my other arm wrapped around her waist so she wouldn't fall just until she sat down. Her next step was college & she wanted to be a cosmetologist. Amazingly enough she would be able to do this profession very well and it would be all online. Her original degree she wanted was to become a doctor. She figured the more she could learn the better she could be of help with everything especially pack wise. She decided to study Cosmetology and then she would go and finish her Dr. Degree after. She Had been in a special position where she was able to be at high school half the day every other day and the other days she was able to be in her other classes. She was chosen to try this out because some of these classes where she had 2 years of her schooling for her doctors degree so once she finished her last 3 classes she was able to become a RNA. You have to be a werewolf, a mate of a werewolf, or one born to be a were wolf but never got their wolves to live on pack grounds. The humans knew nothing about us & we intended it to stay that way. The night was still young & the night was good. I planned on taking Lyra & her family out for dinner & my parents are going to meet us there. Thank goodness when we left her dad noticed that I accidentally left the foot stool & brought it with him & stuck it into the bed of my truck. Only I did not realize it till after I put Lyra in the truck when we left. When we got to the restaurant we took off our caps & gowns. All I could do was stare at Lyra as she climbed down one step at a time from the truck. Her dress complimented her tan skin while making her eyes sparkle like no other. I held her a little longer than normal so I guess she kind of knew something. I could not help but notice that she stared right back at me as if she had felt the same about me, as I have been feeling about her. She blushed that really pretty shade of rose pink on her face that would bring any man down to his knees. The whole way to the restaurant we drove in silence with the soft whispers of the songs playing on the radio, so we didn't talk much. I could see Lyra was getting hungry and knew she was tired. We went to the Flat Creek restaurant, because I wanted to take her to some place she had never been. My pack and I had more money than her pack did, but we had an alliance with her pack for as long as I can remember. I think my pack helped her pack out around 18 and a half years ago right before Lyra was born. I know her mom use to tell us stories about how our packs became allies. I hoped we could keep the alliance for many generations to come. I know her dad was wanting to make more alliances with some of our other allied packs, so I was hoping I could be key to helping him with that. Most of us werewolf packs wanted peace and that was it. I decided that tonight I would maybe tell her we are mates at the restaurant instead tonight. I really wanted to see if she feels anything yet for me through the mate bond. She has to know and I feel wrong not telling her that we are mates. My parents knew, my wolf knew, and I knew. I think it's about time she knew as well. We all sat down at the restaurant and my parents told us they intended to pay for a dinner celebration for all of us instead of letting me pay. This was something I had been saving up for to celebrate with everyone tonight. I was grateful for my parents and to our surprise Lyra's dad insisted that he could pay for himself, Alaina, Lyra, and Phoenix her little brother. They argued for several minutes before I finally had to step in because it seemed to be upsetting Lyra a bit. Hey guys stop arguing us kids don't want to hear it. This is a celebration tonight and if you can't stop arguing Lyra, her siblings, & I will leave and go somewhere else to eat. Now let's have a decent dinner & celebrate tonight. We Graduated and Lyra and I got into the same college, and our letters accepted us along with a full scholarship ride for both of us to get our bachelors degree came in yesterday. Finally after a while we figured out how to take care of the check and tip. Lyra's dad paid the tip and my family covered the cost of dinner. Tonight was a fun night once we got past the fighting. It was something I think it's what we all needed after the year was filled with very stressful times. Lyra and I weren't due to start college until the fall. I pulled out the foot stool thankfully her dad brought it to us earlier at graduation and helped her get back into the truck. I drove her back home after dinner, and she was so tired. We were going to go to the after party with our graduation class, but Lyra had been having nightmares. She had been up since 12:00 a.m. She called me when she had the nightmare and I stayed on the phone with her for a while. We went into the house & she had already taken her heels off, began washing her hair in the sink, and washed her face. She slowly got around and ready for bed seeing as it was about 8:30 p.m. making its way towards 9:00 pm. I decided it was wise if I stayed till her dad came home. He had to stop at the store before coming home so he could pick up things for breakfast tomorrow. I was lost in thought when I heard a scream. After a few minutes she came down the steps still in her dress.......... Uh I thought you were getting ready for bed. "I was until I heard a growl outside the house, and when I looked at my window outside on the ledge of the roof it was a gray wolf with green eyes. It won't go away, I even closed the blinds but then I heard more noise and he hopped up closer to the window." said Lyra in a panicked voice. I immediately jumped up knowing who it was instantly. I let Carver take over as I shifted. I was glad I stayed around to make sure she was ok. I ran up stairs to see if he was still their, because I had a feeling I knew who it was. When I got their he was gone and I ran down stairs only to find nothing their, but I still could smell the scent of the wolf and it smelled familiar.
