As I passed through the large gate, the light blinded me and brought me before a old geezer wearing a crown. Could this bearded man be a King? While resting his head on his hand, the man smirked as the light behind me disappeared.
I looked around to see that I was in a crowd of other individuals. Some, seemed confused, while some seemed alert. The larger part of the crowd there seemed to understand the situation. There were nearly around 20 people, and they all seemed like they had been brought here just like me.
"I welcome you all, heroes. I hope the goddesses have informed you of the current situation well. After we learn of your statuses, we shall train you to best the foul Demon King. Those who wish to stay with us, will be provided with all the luxury this world has to offer. However, the ones who wish to leave will be respected for their decision as well. Those who leave on their separate journey, will be given 5 gold coins, but know, that the only way to return back to your original world is to defeat the Demon King. Now, the choice is all yours."
While the remaining members were busy listening to the King's speech, I was looking around the room. 2 guards standing left and right to the king with large metal spears and fully equipped armor. The elevated platform made it so that none could reach the King, and their golden armor made it seem as if they were elite troops. Exactly behind us, there stood 2 other guards in similar gold armor with similar spears, guarding the large wooden door, decorated with spikes. As I looked back, it alerted one of the guards as he stared back. Something about this place... just seemed wrong.
I turned back to the front. A hall next to the throne seemed to be the only other exit from the room. Other than this, two platforms on the left and the right were held by large marble pillars which held 3 archers each. On the left platform, there stood a man other than the 3 archers, uniquely dressed. A rough stubble on his face with a red cape attached to his metal armor. A sword sheathed, and a shortly-cut hair which gave off that he was a member of the army. Considering that he had enough authority to whisper in the ear of an archer, I'm assuming he's a general of sorts.
They could kill us with ease... but it's not like that matters. I've died already. As the speech finished, I looked at the crowd. Though I was concentrating on my surroundings, I had roughly heard the gist of the matter.
A college student moved to the back and tried to walk through the door. The guards crossed their spears together in front of the door to prevent the student from exiting. The student then turned back to the King and smiled, "Didn't you say that you would respect our decisions?"
Everyone present could sense a dark aura from this man. He had spiky dark hair, thin, rough eyebrows, and sharp white teeth. His face was pale white and he had an earing of the cross on his left ear. Though he had a slim body, he was tall enough and seemed well-built. He wore a black formal shirt, and latex black pants. His dark eyes were enough to intimidate everyone in the room. In short, he looked like a delinquent.
To this man, the King replied, "Yes, I do respect your decision, but-" Before the King could complete speaking, the young man walked out, pushing aside the spears and flinging the door open, saying, "Then I'll take my leave."
The King was probably going to go along the lines of telling him to stay because he could offer him the 5 gold coins just as he had mentioned in his statement, before the young man left, but, from my experience in dealing with higher ups, the youngster did possibly make the correct decision there. Irrespective of the world, I'm sure money has it's importance. No one would just simply give anything without asking for something in return.
The King tried to act as if he wasn't fazed by the delinquent's words, but his expression made it obvious that he was pissed. The King spoke in a normal tone, "Ecolas, give the boy that left, 5 gold coins. As a King, I must not allow the boy to live in our world without any support. He could die out there."
The man standing on the left platform, next to the archers, replied, "Yes, sire. It shall be done." His body instantly disappeared from the room. To calm the few confused minds, the King spoke once again, "Do not worry. Ecolas used teleportation magic. You can learn such magic at the royal library if you succeed in becoming good warriors, heroes."
The King successfully lured minds towards him. The second man in the crowd to speak, was a high school student. He had long, lustrous blond hair that fluttered as he walked towards the King. He was fair-skinned and looked like a model. He had thick eyebrows and dark blue eyes. He was similar in physique to the previous youngster, but he was slightly shorter in height. He wore a blue trench coat, a white buttoned shirt and black pants. As he passed the crowd of people, he knelt before the King to speak, "My King, it is an honor to serve you. I shall slay the wicked Demon King, and bring him to your feet. But for this arduous task, I will need to train. Though it is necessary to settle first, I believe it is of the utmost importance for me to start my training immediately. Where can I train, my Lord?"
The King was visibly pleased. He spoke, "It is good that you are eager, young hero. However, ensure that your eagerness does not extend to fight the Demon King early on. He has lived in these lands for over 500 years. You must be wary."
Without getting up, the blond spoke, "I will not be hasteful, Lord. A goddess has informed me of the current situation."
The King replied, "Alright then. Farmel will guide you to the training grounds. I wish you luck with your training."
A man in a black cloak magically appeared on the right of the King. "Sure, my King." In an instant, he teleported to the entrance of the hall next to the throne. As he looked back at the blonde, he spoke, "Follow me."
As the blonde left, 7 others knelt before the King and followed the cloaked man to the training grounds. 9 had left, and I could count the remaining still standing in the room. There were 4 men and 3 women standing in the room including me.
A boy from the crowd spoke, "You should've brought more men if you wanted to kill heroes. You thought you could beat people from a different planet with spears and arrows? You turned out to be a bigger fool than I imagined. I could hear your general's sword clank with the door open. With that man gone, I can tell, none of you are strong enough."
The boy was younger than the other 2. He looked somewhat like a 14 year old. He had short messy hair, and a toothpick in his mouth. He had black hair and a tanned skin tone. He put his hands in the pockets of his shorts and walked forward, towards the King.
The King, agitated, spoke, "Boy, you cannot talk to me in my court in that manner. I do not wish to bring our heroes harm, if I did, you would not be standing here." His eyes squinted as he became serious.
The boy simply continued walking towards the King. He began climbing the stairs to reach the elevated platform. As he was about to reach the King, the King spoke, "Boy, climbing another stair would be a violation of the law! Step down with the others!" Even with this warning, he continued walking up.
With this, two arrows were fired by the archers, right in front of the boy as warning shots. The King continued, "They are only here for my protection. But I do not wish to inflict any harm upon you, boy. Step down for a moment. Please do not be delusional."
The boy paid no heed to the King. He lifted his hand in the air, and spoke, "[Gravitate]" The arrows went flying towards the archers who had fired those shots, and pierced their chests. This boy had killed 2 men already, and it hadn't even been an hour yet.
A young woman from the crowd then spoke, "[Earth Bind] [Rock Bullet]" as she raised her hand towards the boy. The floor below the boy elevated and grabbed his legs as a rock came flying from the woman's hand. The boy was knocked unconscious to the ground. "[Heal]", the woman spoke as she pointed her hand towards the boy.
With the boy knocked unconscious, the woman bowed to the King, "Forgive him, your majesty. He is simply a young boy with a flowing imagination. I am sure he will serve well in the battle against the Demon King."
