Chapter 2

We got home and quickly unpacked, Mom wasn’t around like always probably out partying with some friends.

“How does it feel to be back home. “Dad asked once I have finally settle in.

“Feels like s**t” I replied while Jason and Shua chuckle.

“I still don’t know why you are trying to run away, you haven’t meet with your friends in years. Are you having a fight or what?” He asked and I replied with a no.

I couldn’t explain to anyone the real reason behind what has happened. I couldn’t tell them why I was adamant and hell bent on leaving.

On why I was scared that people will die because of my actions.

About how much I fear losing the most important people in my life.

I was scared of Ethan and Scott’s reaction when they find out what actually happened seven years ago….

“How the hell am I engaged to Rissa without my own permission?” I asked Dad while focusing my attention on him again.

“When you have a mom like yours, you will realize that stuffs happen without you knowing about it”He said and I groaned.

Dinner was getting served when mom walked in having taking a shower. She hasn’t said a word to anybody which I will consider a good sign.

“Justina called this evening and said she can’t wait for us to pick a date for the wedding” She finally said while everyone went silent.

“Am not getting married to Rissa” I simply put.

“We’ve had this conversation over and over again, you are getting married to her period. What happened with Jason isn’t going to repeat itself”She said while referring to Jason’s marriage to the person he ACTUALLY loves.

“This isn’t about Jason. It is about the fact that you feel like you can control my life any how you want” I said.

“I know what is best and seriously I can’t think of a better person than Rissa” She said.

“Ohhh please. This is just because you want to be more close to Justina and probably so that I ccan inherit some of her properties. You are not thinking about my f*****g happiness” I yelled before going to my room and slam the door shut.

She doesn’t have the right to make me feel like this.

I was still sulking over the matter when Jason walk in.

“Am not in the mood of listening to you try to convince me that she is right” I said when sat on the bed.

“Am not doing any of that s**t” He said.

“She has done enough of controlling our lives and I also feel what you did is the right thing” He said while smiling at me.

“Thanks” I said returning the smile.

“Mimi and Kevin wants to meet up by the way.” He said and I nodded.

Mimi is his wife and also the person mom hate the most because according to her, she is the onewho is taking her son away from her.

I wanted to be free. To be me.

“We’ve missed you dude” Scott said when the duo gathered at Jason’s office the next morning.

“Why did you think that leaving the country is the best option?” Ethan asked. I couldn’t look at him in the face.

“I had to oversee Dad’s company, I didn’t have much option” I said with a very stupid excuse.

“Just tell me you are not going back anytime soon” Scott asked.

“No, I am not” I confirmed.

“When you guys are done playing this stupid love story, will you please get the f**k out of my office?”Jason said in an annoyed tone.

“Will you also stop being moody?”Scott asked.

“I am this close to murdering you” He said while pointing at Scott.

“Really. Did Mimi decide to enforce the no s*x rule?” Scott said while mocking Jason only for Jason to throw a file at his face.

“Good aim” Ethan said when the file hit Scott on the face.

“Leave my f*****g office” I said while turning towards the door.

“By the way, Mom wants you to meet Uncle Johnson’s son that will soon start working at Dad’s company” Jason said and I groaned.

I hate my life.

We, the trio got into the car about to head over to Scott’s hotel when Ethan speaks up.

“Did she do anything again?” He asked and I immediately know that he was referring to mom.

“She wants me and Rissa to get married” I said and immediately Scott stops the car.

“Rissa, the childhood friend?” Scott asks.

“Yeah. That one” I confirmed and the two burst out laughing.

“What is funny in this matter?” I asked with a frown.

“I don’t know which one, the fact that your mom thinks that getting a wife for you by herself is the best thing to do” Scott said.

“Or the fact that she thinks that the person you think of as a sister is the best for you” Ethan seconded.

“Imagine my reaction when I realize that I proposed to her without my knowledge” I said and that immediately fuel the laughter even more.

“It is really not funny” I said.

“I think it is. How the f**k does one proprose without his knowledge” Ethan said.

“The best thing for you to do is explain to her that you aren’t going to do any of that s**t”Scott said.

“Already did” I said.

“And her reaction?”Scott asked.

“That she is knows what is best for me” I supplied.

“Makes sense” Scott said and I glared at him.

“She will get over it, just like she did with your brother” Ethan said in a comforting tone.

“Yeah, I mean she is comfortable with Mimi now, right?” Scott asked.

“In your dreams. She is still not over the fact that Mimi stole her child from her.” I said.

“Just so you know, your mom is the weirdest woman I have ever met aside from Ethan’s” Scott said and we all laughed………..
