Chapter 8 - The dream Home

1343 Words
IDRIS  The house is so huge, the fountain on the front side is so beautiful, the plants and trees on the side are adding extra beauty to this home. There is another house, smaller than this one, but, still a large one. That could be where Alex and Sam are living, It is also painted with black and white like this one. Something got my attention more than the elevation of the house, the letters, “J-A-R-I-S?”  I look at Jack, what does that mean? Name of his computer? I try to think, that’s where I remember I had a tattoo of that name too on my right arm, I had other few tattoos, symbols, and birds. “Umm... It’s…” He looks so uncomfortable,  “Something we had?” I ask, trying to help him. I don’t want him to be sad, even though I don’t know him.  “Yeah, Kinda.” He says, I don’t know the meaning of the word but it might be something Jack and Idris had, and unfortunately that Idris is me with no memory of it.  Even though I don’t know the history behind the letters I admired the design of the letters craved big enough to gain everyone's attention, “Wanna go in?” He asks.  I nod, hiding my enthusiasm to look at this. I was stunned to see the high ceiling that has some ceiling lights hanging from the ceiling in the living room, the living room is very huge too, with a big TV and comfy couches, After looking at the dining room, kitchen, pantry, great room, bar, and the bedrooms on the first floor, I can’t wait to see the upstairs,  “This is.. Your bedroom,” Jack says opening a big room on the right side. It is more than half the size of the apartment we live in, I don’t understand why he is still living in that apartment, if he could hear like a prince, the whole room is again black and white. Everything is black and white, interior, figurines, furniture. He must love black and white very much to design everything in it. I turned and fell on the bed on my back, the mattress is so soft and bouncy. It feels like laying on the bird's feather, I caught Jack smiles amused, “It’s so comfy that what you had in your apartment,” I say “I bet,” He says. “There is a walk-in closet, and the left side is the bathroom.” He says. There are a lot of books on the shelf. It's either I was into books or Jack. I look around, I want to know what I was like, but If I asked Jack, I would remind him so much of the past, and I don’t want him to see me the same. I can understand he loves me, but now I can’t say I love him, I barely know him. And It’s all...  “Wanna check out others or just want to lay there?” He asks. “On your comfy bed,” He asks. I looked at the massive glass window on the side and behind my bed, there was an open kitchen near the pool, “You have a pool?” I ask.  He smiles proudly, “Hmm, Yeah,” He replies coming next to my bed, “You can see it from your balcony though,” He adds.  “Where is your room?” I ask. He looks stiff, “It’s.. next to you.” He says.  I nod, weighing whether I can ask him or it would be meddling with his personal business, “What do you wanna ask?” He asks like I was talking out loud.  “You were thinking about something, right?” He asks, raising his eyebrows, “Just tell me what is it?” He asks. He thinks before answer it, “I finished building it a few months ago,” He says, but he is not looking at me like he always does,  “Is that what you do when you lie?” I ask.  He looked shocked and looked at me instantly, “What did I do?” He asks to change his posture.  “Not looking at me,” I say casually. “Your eyes never leave me when you talk, but not when you lie,”  I say figuring out. “Do you think It’s better if I don’t know it?” I ask.  He looked at me sadly, but didn’t answer, “Was it me, connected to wires and tubes?” I ask.  He nods looking at his hands, “Idris, We can’t change what had happened. If I can give you the seven years you lost, or all the years I would..” “No, You don’t have to,” I say. “I…” I try to say it without making him sad,  “Tell me what is it?” He insists. “I need space, I need time. Please don’t think I”m the Idris you were..” I close my eyes, “you were in love with,” I say. I know how selfish of me it is, but it is right, I feel this is right,  “I know, you are not.” He says I opened my eyes, he looked at me, he was not very sad,” You don’t have to ask me for time or space. I will not… You want the truth?” He asks.  Of course, I nod, “This house is yours so it waited for you to come home... You are my business partner, one of the shareholders of AJ industries. The house was built with your share, with your plan So, if you don’t want me here I don’t mind…: “No,” I blurt out. “I don’t know anyone else,” I say insecurity,  He looks at me, “Idris, You don’t have to think and feel guilty just because I was in love with you once and now I’m a stranger, “You can’t believe or continue the past life you don’t remember, ” He says looking at me, I know he is telling the truth, “I’m so glad that you are here, you woke up and talking to me, I’m really happy for you, You don’t have to worry about our past relationship, It’s over. I will stay as your friend always and forever,” I feel the heavyweight lifted on my shoulder, “Only if you want to,” He adds. “I’m sorry Jack,” I say, “And Thank you so much for understanding me and want to be a good friend,” I appreciate it, I don’t know how many people do it.  “Take rest, I will cook lunch,” he says walking out.  “Thank you,” I say again but he is far away to hear it.  I breathe out, “I don't know what I should do, If he wanted me to be his girlfriend or wife.”  “You can’t believe or continue the past life you don’t remember,” I hear his words over and over in my head, He is such a nice person and understands me very well. “Wow,” It has a glass window on the top ceiling too. Was I too much into sunlight or moonlight? Maybe it’s time to find out and dig about me. I checked the books to see what’s in them. And what are those about?
