JACK
“Wake up,” I hear Alex's voice.
I ignored his voice, “Why are you even sleeping here?” he pats on my back.
I opened my eyes to see him standing there in his pajamas, the sunlight says it’s not more than seven now. My neck hurts that I slept in the same position, “Idris is sleeping in the room,” I say rubbing my eyes.
“There is another room,” He says.
I nod, but from here I can see her room and watch her, I can’t do that from another room, I didn't say it, “I was working, I fell asleep,” I lied.
“Sam will not wake up till eight, watch him. I will get some groceries,” He says walking out before I nod.
When I open my room door, Idris is still sleeping, I don’t want to wake her up.I watch her sleeping peacefully, the blinds are closed, the room is dark but enough light for me to see her, After a few minutes of admiring the love of my life I silently closed the door, Sam is asleep too, I take the time to fresh up, When I back, I saw Alex cooking, I went to check up on Idris again, she was still sleeping, “Idris, Wake up, Breakfast is ready,” I say
“Mmmm, Hmmm,” She moans.
“Wake up, you will be hungry,” I say politely,
She flutters her eyes, “I will fresh up and come,” She says sitting up
I nod, “Okay,”
Idris chatting easily with Alex and Sam, “What can I call you if I shouldn’t call you Idris?” Sam asks.
“You can call me… Dris or D?” She replies. I look at her, doesn’t she like her name?
“Yeah, you can just call me D,” She says
Sam nodded at her, “You can call me Sam, I don’t mind it. I actually like my name more,” Sam says.
“I.. like my name too, But I thought it’s hard to call my full name,” She says.
Sam shakes his head, “Idris Amy Hunter, is your name, Jack daddy told me,” Sam answers him,
Idris looks amazed by his reply, “What is your full name?” She asks.
“Samson Thomas O’Connor,” He answers, “You know what, I and Jack daddy share the same middle name,” He adds.
She looks at me, “Jack Thomas Hunter,” She says, I was stunned by her lips saying my name. My body still has the same effect of hearing my name from her lips.
“Yesterday you told me about a tour. What is it?” She asks.
“What tour?” Sam was excited.
Alex gives a look at Sam silencing him. “I want to show Idris our home,” I say
Idris looks around the apartment, “Not, this. The build I build for…My dream house,” I lied.
Idris looks surprised, “Can we go today?” She asks.
“You would love it there, I can introduce you to Shelly, she is very kind, and…” Sam says everything about his pet like she is a human-made me and Alex laugh. No wonder Idris thought it was a maid or Alex’s girlfriend.
“Sam, we are visiting your grandparents today,” Alex says
Sam pouts but it didn’t work, “Okay, D. I will meet you for dinner,” He says climbing out of the chair.
Idris waved at him, “I will go change, we can go,” She left without waiting for a word.
It’s become thirty minutes, Idris is still in her room. After an hour, I wanted to check on her, “Idris, Are you okay?” I knock on her door.
“Yeah, I’m fine.” She says loudly from inside the room. But her voice doesn’t sound fine, “Can I come?” I ask.
“Sure, come in,” She says.
I was shocked to see the room, the room was changed upside down, all her clothes were scattered everywhere, “What happened?” I ask.
She looks around and notices what I meant, “Um… these…” she shrugs
“Forget it, Can I help you with anything?” I ask, stepping carefully on the floor.
She looks at me and her wardrobe, “Can you?” She asks
I nod, “You are struggling with what to wear?” I ask.
“I don’t find any skirts or shorts to wear, the one that is not fit anymore,” She says holding a skirt. I had always bought her dress, but she was never a skirt girl, So I never bought that except the one she is holding. It was three years ago, she was fine then compared to now.
“You can use a belt?” I suggest it to her.
She looks at her reflection, “Do I look good?” She asks, holding the skirt and a navy blue top. Is she kidding? She is the most beautiful girl I have ever seen.
“You look pretty,” I say
She looks away, “Five minutes,” She says.
I give her the belt, “Okay,”
After ten minutes Idris opened the door, “I’m ready,” She says. The room was still a mess, I look at that, “Um... Sorry, I made your room messy. I will clean it up.” She says, “Later,” She adds,
I smile at her, “That’s fine. I can clean it up later, and it’s your room now,” I say
“How long does it take to reach?” She asks,
There is not much traffic today, “An hour, max,” I say, that’s the only conversation we made so far till we reach the home.
“Welcome home, Idris,” I say opening her car door, She looks amazed at the house, “Wow, It’s incredible,” She says looking around, “It’s so modern and… huge,” She says.
