-Emerald-
"A movie night, huh?" I ask Lia playfully.
Lia shrugs, "Well, you're always studying so I thought why not have some fun with our lovely bookworm."
"Uh-huh, and you didn't think about my ah-mazing father?" I say dramatically.
"Who cares? Look, we're all going to be there, there's no reason to worry." she assures me.
"That's exactly what I'm worried about." I sigh.
"Are you sure? We can always cancel, you know." She puts a hand on my shoulder in order to comfort me.
I smile, "You know what, let's live, Lia. I'm tired of my routine anyway."
"That's like my BFF!" she exclaims loudly.
I give her a blank look.
She raises her hands in surrender, "Okay, okay, I know you hate the word. Never using it again."
"Good girl!" I smile and ruffle her hair.
"Hey! Be a bit considerate since you're a girl. You know these hair thingies take forever to behave."
I laugh loudly, "Who calls their hair, thingies?"
She shrugs, grinning widely.
We walk towards Lia's car together.
"Aren't you going home?" Lia asks.
"I still have to get a few books from the library. You go, I'll be fine." I smile.
"You sure?"
"Yup."
"Okay, gotta go girly! See you in an hour."
I smile, "Sure."
She speeds off in the blink of an eye. For a girl, she sure loves speed. Nope, I'm not being sexist here, just a bit amazed.
Suddenly, I felt as if someone was watching me from behind. I turn around quickly.
No one. Strange. I thought as if I am being...stalked.
Really Emerald? You think you'd be stalked? You're not exactly Miss America, you know?
I sigh. I hate when my subconscious is right. Why would someone stalk a nerd like me?
I walk towards the library. I'm so nerdy, it's frightening.
I was kidding. Not really. Sometimes it gets really annoying. Especially when my fath-
A loud sound breaks my chain of thoughts. I look around but find no one. Am I really not being stalked, because I seriously feel so.
No, you're not being stalked. Stop resorting to that.
'Such a ray of sunshine you are, dear subconscious,' I think sarcastically.
I reach the library and start searching through the bookshelves of the library for some science related books. Yeah, I know I'm pathetic.
"Looking for something?" A voice, no scratch that, a deep, extremely sexy voice whispers in my ear.
I shiver involuntarily and turn around to look at the owner of the voice.
My breath gets caught in my throat.
"You must've seen me around, I'm Brant Richmond, and you are?" He raises his hand for me to shake.
"I...gotta go." I say before hastily scurrying off to where my car was parked.
I unlock the doors and get in. Once inside, I lean my head on the steering wheel.
Brant Richmond talked to me.
Brant Richmond talked...
Brant Richmond...
Brant...
Ugh his voice is stuck in my head. That masculinity in his voice and his sexy Brazilian accent.
He's a bad boy, Emerald.
Well, nice to know I have such a bright subconscious.
'i***t, i***t, idiot.' I keep mumbling to myself.
After a few deep breaths, I start the ignition and take off towards my home with only one thing in my mind.
Brant Richmond must be regretting talking to a weirdo like me and why won't he? He was trying to talk to me and I, being the little weirdo I am, fled.
Great, just great.
