Tough decision

chapter 8

For two straight nights I have been sleeping on the tiled floor,the hard surface and coldness that comes with it was unbearable,to make matters worse,I had no wrapper or duvet to lay on the floor,I had no other option than to endure praying for the day to break for her to leave so I can be free from her torment.

Unaware of what is happening on the bed as my only prayer was for time to move fast for morning to come,as the shivering became too much that my lips and teeth practically were rumbling and clicking due to cold, suddenly I felt a tap on my shoulder,I quickly got up turning to the lady I thought was sleeping,what happened,I thought you were asleep,no I couldn't sleep, besides,how would I with the sound of your clicking teeth getting loud,you have a bed large enough to contain two people and you want to catch cold on the floor, please come up to the bed,she requested,do I really have anything to argue about her request, I know but I want you to feel comfortable, letting me in is enough,I should be the one on the floor,then catch cold, I cut in, maybe that is what I deserve,she said looking away, unconsciously I got up from the floor,went to the bed and held her who was now crying again,how would say that to yourself, I don't know what is going on with you but no one deserves bad treatment in return for good,she turned and buried her face on my chest crying.

All I felt for her was pity,I said to myself,what a world,the same people on the opposite sides, I started parting her on her back,shortly she dozed off ,I quickly disengaged from her , laid on the bed maintaining a good distance from her so I can at least catch some sleep, almost drifting into sleep,I felt a body and an arm crossing over my chest, I startled at the same time waking her up,she was actually at sleep when she did that, sorry she apologized, I am sorry too if I scared you I thought it was something else,I returned,it is obvious that her heart has been smashed by someone she loves, maybe the sleep on each other's arm,she went back to sleep, within thirty minutes,she rolled over again crossing her arm over my chest,this time I allowed her to have her way if that will make her sleep so I can equally sleep.
