I stared over the fence where I knew Gina went, I had heard their conversation. I just hope Aurora doesn’t lie to me about it.
I licked my lips as I waited for her response. Please, Aurora, it would break my heart if you lied to me.
“No one,” Aurora replied as she avoided my gaze. I gulped and took a step back.
Why is she lying? I asked myself, does she have plans to leave me now that she has found out about Humberto’s love for her?
Her eyes are wet and puffy. Does she want to choose him over me?
“I… “ I said, but my voice broke when she looked up at me. I wanted to tell her I knew Gina was here, but maybe I should give her a chance to tell me the truth herself.
I trust her, I love her. My heart shattered into tiny pieces seeing the pain in her eyes.
