Demetri’s point of view
“De… Demetri?” I heard my name and I raised my head slowly, blood dripping out of my mouth as my gaze fell on Humberto. He held a young girl in his hand as he stared at me in shock.
“You too?” Humberto asked, his heart breaking the more as seconds passed.
I rushed up to my feet and shook my head at him, “No… Humberto… it’s not what you think… I…” My voice trailed off when I saw Humberto’s face twisted from shock to anger.
“You too!!” Humberto growled this time louder. He dropped the young girl in his hand, “Gina… go and hide behind that tree. I have to take care of another bloodthirsty monster.”
I took a deep breath as I walked up to him, “I am not a bloodthirsty monster… Humberto… I was just trying to help… but things didn’t turn out right… he…”
