Aurora’s POV The night pressed in around us, thick and unrelenting. The rain had slowed to a drizzle, but the air remained damp, heavy with salt and earth. My clothes clung to my skin, the cold seeping into my bones, but I refused to acknowledge it. Demetri stood a few feet away, his wings flexing restlessly before he folded them against his back.
