Humberto’s POV I drag Demetri into the corridor, my grip like iron around his collar. Rage surges through me, blinding and all-consuming. Without hesitation, I slam my fist into his face, the impact sending him stumbling against the stone wall. "You dare betray me?" I growl, my voice low and dangerous. "You killed her mother! You made her love you only to trap her!" Demetri coughs, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth. "I tried to save Hazel!" he gasps, his voice raw. "I failed—I swear it, Humberto! I never wanted her to die!" His words barely register before I lunge again, landing another punishing blow to his ribs. He grunts in pain, doubling over, but I’m not finished.
