THE OFFER
Chapter 1 — The Offer
Amara wiped the sweat from her brow as she stared at her tiny Lagos apartment. Between unpaid rent, a stack of bills, and a half-finished dress, life was a relentless fight she didn’t feel like winning today. Yet, she had a meeting a long shot, sure, but a chance she couldn’t ignore.
The cab screeched to a halt in front of a glass building that screamed wealth, and Amara’s stomach twisted. Noah Ramsey’s name echoed in her mind the billionaire who had a reputation for bending everyone to his will. And now, he wanted her.
The interview started normally enough questions about her designs, her past work. But then Noah leaned back in his chair, eyes darkening, voice low and commanding.
“I’m offering you a position,” he said. “A position that comes with… certain benefits. You’ll live under my roof, enjoy my protection, and work closely with me. Your salary will be generous. But there’s a condition.”
Amara blinked. “Condition?”
He handed her a sleek folder. “This is a contract. You’ll be… married to me. For six months. Legally binding. After that, we part ways. No questions. No attachments.”
Her mouth went dry. “You… you want me to marry you?”
Noah didn’t flinch. “I do. And I need an answer by tonight.”
Amara felt the room tilt, her mind spinning. This wasn’t a job offer. This wasn’t even life as she knew it. And yet… a part of her whispered that this could change everything.
Her pulse raced. She had to decide. Tonight.
