We arrived home and Elouise went straight to our room to calm down, which I understand; her mother affects her more than she admits, even though everyone is aware of it and doesn’t say anything. She was so angry Candice had stood up as a character reference for Victoria, when she wasn't a model mother herself. Because she went to our room, it left me sitting in the living area to answer everyone’s questions regarding the court hearing. “Jonah’s the father,” I said as everyone’s mouths dropped open in surprise. They all knew there was a possibility; I suppose they were hoping for a different outcome too. “I have to admit, a little part of me wanted her to be Isaac’s for his sake.”
