Dear Diary,

So much has happened since the first time, Mrs Parker gave me my first diary when I were 14. I, Elouise Emerson was an abused pup. My mother was an alcoholic and drug addict, and I was sexually assaulted and beaten by my stepfather; still, I found my mate, the future Alpha, Bradon Fox.

I know I have found it hard to trust, and not just with Bradon. You diary, have helped me through that.

I think that is why Luna Kelsey Finlay and I started Combined Pack Welfare Services. She and I had gone through the same traumatic experience and wanted to help others. Both the Harness Moon Pack and the Red Moon Pack wanted to show werewolves, it's not OK to treat people less because of their rank and upbringing in a pack.

Anyway, you show my story on how I became a nobody to the Luna of the Harness Moon Pack.

(And I wouldn't have it any other way). "Thanks for your comment, Brae" I laughed as Bradon shrugged next to me.

1 - Dear Diary
Elouise’s POV “Hello class and welcome to your first year at Gold Meadows High School”, Mrs Parker, my English teacher, announced as students were coming into the classroom for the last period of the day. “Please take a seat and choose wisely, because this will be your assigned seat for the rest of the school year.” I glanced around the classroom, having already chosen my seat at the back, by the window. It’s a solitary seat, just the way I like it. I didn’t get a scholarship for my pretty looks; I got it because of my hard work. Getting this scholarship was the only way to get away from my stepfather and stepsister. Well, stepfather at least, my f*****g stepsister didn’t think it was fair I was going to the most prestigious school on a scholarship. Daddy dearest is paying for her tuition to come here too. “Bradon, come sit by me” the screechy voice of my stepsister Victoria called over the last of the students coming into the classroom. I rolled my eyes into my book bag, so she didn’t see. Of course, she would be so bold as to ask the future Alpha to sit by her. I heard her scoff before I heard the scraping of furniture being moved across the floor. “May I sit here?” a male voice said as I raised my glance from my book bag to see who was talking to me. Bradon f*****g Fox was moving a desk and chair next to my desk. Just because he is the next Alpha, doesn’t give him the right to nudge his way into my space. What an entitled asshole. “I’m Bradon.” “I know who you are, and you can sit anywhere you like. It is a free country, last I checked,” I said as Bradon sat down next to me, not taking the hint I didn’t want him there. Victoria, on the other hand, was glaring daggers in my direction. I wonder if anyone has told her how ugly she looked when she screwed her face up like that? “You don’t want to sit with Victoria?” “Nah, I prefer to sit here, away from everyone,” he said as I rolled my eyes. Precisely why I sat here, meaning I want you away from me too. I pulled the sleeves of my sweater around my wrists and turned my gaze back to Mrs Parker. “Now that everyone is settled. The first item on the agenda for the school year is your first assignment”, she said as the whole class groaned, while she handed some spiral notebooks in various colors to the students at the front of the classroom. They slowly took one and moved the rest down the line. Since I was the last in line, I waited for whatever color was left over to be handed to me. Bradon turned to give me a red notebook, grinning and keeping the yellow one for himself. “These are your diaries”, Mrs Parker continued as I placed mine on my desk in front of me. “I want you to write down your experiences here at Gold Meadows High School. You will be assessed on how much or how little you write in your diary. Don’t worry, I won’t be reading them”, she paused as some of the girls gasped at the very thought. “I will be taking note of whether you are using the diary, so keep it on hand.” I moved the notebook to my book bag and waited for Mrs Parker to continue; “With that being said, this is an honor class, and I have high expectations for each of you.” Honor class? Then what is Victoria doing here? Jamie must have lied about her grades again. The remainder of the class, Mrs Parker spoke about what she expected from everyone and what our syllabus would be for the semester. Pretty much what every class was like, being the first day of school. Even gym class was like that; although we did have to show everyone how much we knew. I sat out because of the bruises and red marks on my arms and stomach. I didn’t tell the teacher where they came from, I just said I fell over a few days before I got here and would be able to contribute in the next class, hopefully. Once the final bell rang, I couldn’t escape the classroom quickly enough. I know I should feel honored that Bradon Fox wanted to sit by me, but I’m not. I can’t let him know what’s been going on because he will tell his parents. I raced to my locker and collected my books as quickly as I could before going to my dorm room. I share it with one other student, Chelsea. She’s here on scholarship too, or so she tells me. I used to know her a long time ago, and she seemed nice enough, but like most people in my life, it probably won’t remain that way. I have no friends, mainly because of Victoria. The moment I get a friend, she intervenes, and they take her side, even though she lies to them. That’s why I prefer to be alone. She can’t hurt me if I’m alone. I put my book bag next to my desk and pulled the red notebook out, placing it in front of me before opening to the blank front page, writing; Diary of Elouise Emerson: Freshman Year. Monday 2nd, September Dear Diary I’m not sure what I’m supposed to write here. My teacher, Mrs Parker, told us we needed to make a diary for our English assessment. I don’t want to fail the class, so I’m going to start one. She even gave me this lovely book to write in. It’s not my favorite color, purple; but it’s nice, just the same. Anyway, I suppose I had better tell you who I am. My name is Elouise Janet Emerson, and I’m 14 years old. Yes, Elouise with the u after my grandmother, who is no longer with us. Actually, I don’t have any grandparents, but anyhow, that’s how she spells her name and my father wanted to keep it going. I have auburn red hair and brown eyes. I don’t know where I got that red hair from. I’m guessing my father since I’ve never met him or even seen a picture of him. I’m 5 foot 5 and yes, I know it’s smaller than an average she-wolf my age and no, I don’t care. I do have a few freckles on my face, but other than that, I’m just a plain werewolf, with nothing more spectacular to add. I belong to the Harness Moon Pack. It’s the biggest pack in the Northern Hemisphere. My parents were the betas of the pack. When I say, were; my father, Lionel Emerson, died when I was a baby from a rogue attack. That’s why I have never met him and mum has never kept any photos. My mum, Candice, did the best she could to raise me under the circumstances. She ended up having some sort of falling out with the Alpha and Luna of the pack and was asked to leave the packhouse. I don’t remember seeing photos of Dad there either, but I was 6 when we left, so who knows. Where was I? Oh, yeah; we moved out of the packhouse and into a house on the outskirts of the territory. Enter Jamie Fitzpatrick and his daughter Victoria. Mum and Jamie got married when Victoria and I were six. Did I mention it was Jamie’s house we moved to? At least that’s what I was told. Anyway, my life has been a living hell since. When Mum isn’t drunk or high… Actually, she is never drunk or high, so I can’t say it’s fine. I don’t even think she knows what Jamie and Victoria do to me. Victoria, I can handle most of the time. But Jamie, let’s just say he does things nobody should have to experience. That’s where the bruises come from. If I try to fight back or resist, he punches, kicks and anything else he can do to me. Victoria would make up stories of how I hurt his precious princess and I would be punished, not that Jamie needed an excuse. That’s why I was happy to get my scholarship. I just wish that Victoria didn’t follow. “What are you writing?” Chelsea asked, coming over to my desk as I quickly shut the notebook. When did she get back? I didn’t even hear her coming into the dorm. “Um, Mrs Parker told us we…” “Oh, the diary”, Chelsea laughed, cutting me off and sitting down on the side of her bed. “I got one in the second period. Sounds like they are getting all of us to keep one.” “Yeah?” I laughed as she pulled a blue notebook out of her book bag. “I know it’s not really an assignment, they just want us to write about our experiences here. But I don’t want to fail over something so menial.” “Me too?” Chelsea said as she curled up on her bed. “What are you writing in yours?” “Who I am and why I’m writing in the diary”, I said with a shrug as she nodded and opened her diary. “What are you going to write in yours?” “Pretty much the same thing” she answered, pulling a pen out of her pencil case. “Oh, Bradon Fox was looking for you.” “What?” I half yelled, twisting my neck to gaze at Chelsea. “Why in the world would the Alpha’s son be looking for me? I’m a nobody.” “Not sure, he was just asking for you and a blonde girl called Victoria didn’t take that well and said you were nothing but a gold-digging slut…” “That’s rich coming from her” I scoffed, interrupting Chelsea as she raised her eyebrows at me. “Victoria’s my stepsister and likes to lie about me, so I don’t get any friends.” “Oh, that’s the stepsister?” she said as I nodded my head. I think I mentioned something about Victoria to her when I moved my stuff in. If I could call what little I had, move it in. “Anyway, Bradon told her off and said if anyone saw you, to tell you he was looking for you.” “It’s probably nothing” I said, turning my attention back to the diary as she began to write in hers. Sorry for the interruption, that was Chelsea. She’s the twin sister of Seth and Bradon Fox’s Gamma. Did I mention earlier, I knew them when I was 6? That’s because they are the son and daughter of the current Gamma. When Dad died, Gamma Henry became Beta and Chelsea’s father, Luke, became Gamma. He was a warrior or something; I can’t remember. Anyway, she said she got a diary too, except her notebook is blue. Speaking of Bradon Fox, Chelsea was also telling me, he was asking for me. Why would the son of the alpha want to see me? I’m a nobody. It’s not like I’m a Beta’s daughter anymore. Mum gave up that right the moment we moved from the packhouse. Sure, Bradon is good-looking with his long dark hair, hazel eyes and my goddess; his chiseled abs can make any girl blush. And before you ask, I have gym class with him too. The whole freshman year has gym class together. The boys like to show off what they have. It’s not as if I went out of my way to perve on him. Where was I? Oh yeah, I don’t know why he would be looking for me. The last time I even remember seeing any of them was when I was 6, before we moved from the packhouse. From what Chelsea said, he, Aaron, Seth and she were homeschooled, so we never crossed paths again. Come to think of it, why are they coming here? She never told me that part. Their parents must need them to go to high school; I'm not sure. I suppose I could ask Chels, but she’ll start believing the lies soon enough, just like everyone else, so I shouldn’t really care. I guess that’s everything about me and why I’m writing in you, diary. Until tomorrow; catch you. I shut my diary and placed it in my book bag. “Do you want to get something to eat?” I asked as I got up from my desk. “Sure” Chelsea said, placing her diary under her pillow. “I know, it’s not a very good hiding spot, but I have nothing to hide,” she laughed as we walked out of the dorm room. “Me either and my book bag isn’t really hiding anything”, I laughed as Chelsea linked her arm in mine as I flinched a little. “Sorry” she said, unlinking her arm. “I forgot ab…” “Shh” I cut her off as she glanced at me suspiciously. “I don’t want anyone to know I fell over and hurt my arm.” “OK” Chelsea whispered as I gently linked my arm with hers, since that’s what she expected me to do. “Let’s get something to eat.”
