Chapter 13Even with Lawton out of the hospital, stress continued to take its toll on Melissa. Constantly tired, she had no appetite. When she forced herself to eat, she became nauseous. She didn’t sleep well, either. Although she’d lost weight and felt totally exhausted, she still tried to maintain a cheerful and positive outlook for Lawton’s sake.
Once they returned to the ranch between his second and final operations, she tried to keep an eye on things, since Lawton was still unable to move around enough to get outdoors.
