Chapter 29The final night in Flotine is similar to the first four nights. Katrivus and Talon are in meetings with the rulers of the little island while Ashcon and Skken enjoy the fine ale and the kendra from Ashcon's “lucky streak.” Sapphyre spends the majority of her time in thought and studying the demeanor of the wizards on the island.
The fact that there are more than a handful of them comes as a surprise to Sapphyre. When she finds out there is a consortium of wizards who have a permanent structure on the island, it comes as a shock. The wizards took up residence on the northern side. There are over thirty wizards of varying degrees of power on the island at any given time. The residence is off limits to all but the wizards, and even Katrivus is only permitted with an invitation.
