DANA “Why would I get you connected to the FBI when all you do is question my authority? Who knows what will happen if I get you connected to the big league?” “I didn’t question your authority, I just feel shitty cleaning up the chairman’s mess.” “You didn’t my dear Dana. You just did as you were instructed, you can’t do things out of line without my instruction, I’m your boss and you’re bound to listen to me.” I clenched my fist. I can’t let my anger win over me neither will I spoil my opportunity with my own hands. “I’m sorry boss,” I said and lowered my head. “Then leave,” he said while I nodded my head dragging my feet out of his office, I closed the door and stood. My head spun in my head, I can’t believe that for the past twenty four years of my life, I have always wasted... “Mr. Chairman, I’ve got the intels you need to strike down and infiltrate into the Petrovs.” I overhead cutting into my thoughts. “No dear, my dog did the whole job for me again.” I heard which caught into my nerves and caused me to stop breathing for a moment. “You know that. I told you, that I’d get everything sorted out for you. I like her because she’s very loyal.” Then the cackles of his laughter. “Yes, gunning down the father now is not going to be a problem even if you decide to wait a few years, the most important thing is that there are shitty facts you’d use to drown The Petrov’s.” I clenched my fist heading out immediately and reaching for my phone, “Lucky,” I called, “I need you to get me that drive I gave to boss now!” “What? Wait? Boss?? What? Why? What happened?” “The chairman... The chairman...” “Babe!!” I heard Antony’s voice at the other end of the road as I stood trying to cross to the other side, I turned to see him, he was waving at me. I waved back, he began to cross waving at me until a fast speeding truck screeched and ran him over right before my very eyes. My heart stopped, my heart clenched. My phone fell off my hand, I swallowed, my legs felt heavy. They wobbled, my hair stood on my head. I stopped moving, my eyes fixed blankly at truck which stopped in the middle of the road. All of a sudden, I took my heels, rushing to the crowded scene, “Anthony!!!” I screamed when I saw him lying on the floor, blood spilling from his head. I covered my mouth, tears filled my eyes. “Anthony!!!” I heard the blares of siren before I passed out. MIKHAIL “Wake up!” I heard a sharp scream before my curtains were drawn and a sharp sunlight filtered into the room causing a sharp ray to touch my closed eyes making me feel very uncomfortable. I groaned. They won’t allow me to get a minute rest in this house! Ugh!!! “It’s time to go to prepare for classes!” I heard the nannie’s voice again and I grumbled loudly before I opened my eyes refusing to sit up. “I’m not going to school today.” I commanded while she stood in the middle of my room with her hands on her waist. “We got you a school transfer to America,” she said while my face lit up, elated, I sat up. “That’s not true. Father will never do that for me.” “Well, since Sasha left five years ago to America, you have been a nuisance. You can go be with her in America, everything is already arranged for you.” She said smiling. Nuisance? I frowned. “Never use that word nuisance with me nanny, learn to know your place.” I growled crossing my hands over my chest while she cowered immediately. “I’m so sorry young master,” I sneaked a swift smile to my face, “I will get dressed then.” I said as I stood up and went into my bathroom to take a quick shower. “But you’d meet a new doctor in America, your father has been so worried since your last visit to the old one.” I heard the nannie’s voice which got me frozen for a moment. “Your father said that he can’t have you inherit the organisation when you’re weak. You will have to come back in two months for the succession ceremony, young master.” Yeah, the succession ceremony. The day that have been tied around my neck since I was born. I won’t sit, eat or drink without that ceremony being mentioned. “You have to be of good behaviour son, the whole world is watching you. You can’t make a mistake, whether I’m alive or dead.” “You are to carry on the family’s responsibility on your shoulder, you can’t be weak. I don’t need a weak son! Throw feelings away to the dogs!” “What if you were kidn*pped? I was kidn*pped ten times before I learnt how to defend myself. You need to learn how to do that, don’t expect me to come over to your rescue every single time.” “Your mother is dead, so are you going to keep crying? Wipe those tears or I would have my men torture you endlessly till you learn how to take pain. I don’t need a weak son! How many times will I tell you that?” “I heard you killed someone to protect the Petrov’s. I’m proud of you son, very proud. You’re becoming the man I have always wanted you to become. You’re indeed my son.” “You don’t apologise to your men. You kill them when they misbehave, you cast them away when they make you feel less worthy, you tear them apart and feed them to the dogs when they betray you son, apology is for the weak people.” I touched a scar which was permanent on my neck heaving as the flight took off to America. “Honey! Father told me you are coming to America!!!” Sasha’s voice blared into my ears as my plane landed at the airport. “Yeah, did you miss me that much?” I asked looking around for my chauffeur before I bumped into someone and my phone clattered to the floor. “I’m so sorry,” was the voice I heard as I bent down to pick up my phone. My hand froze as I picked up my phone, the voice resonating into my bones before I looked up. “Dana?”
