Marcus watched his Cherub climb on the guardroom table to look out of the low, wide window. In his desperation, the homunculi had knocked over several empty cups.
He stood and marched to the window as Billie frantically gestured outside. Another transport was landing on the tarmac outside.
“You’re right. That’s three units of Commandos. This Code- Brown business is obviously not going well. Let’s go check in with the Major.”
As the security trooper fastened his helmet, he wondered what sort of a day the Doc he had brought in was having.
