Chapter 16Silver lay back in his bed, genuinely confused. Could anything Kim said be true? Was that spaceship really heading for a meeting with the divine? Did he only agree to help Mahi because she compelled him to?
They spent some ten hours or so getting to know each other in that overgrown garden. Silver would admit that he found her disarming, but he was confident that was because he liked her.
He found it hard to be open, warm, and friendly to people he thought were stupid. Daytime Silver’s personable nature was a performance for the most part, a disguise to make his life easier. Smile and nod and wait for them to go away. Unless he was trying to f**k them.
That was never an issue here. She was both a woman and a feline homunculus.
But more importantly, she was also really smart.
