Nine Nasim knew better than to pursue her. It had been a risk to even steal that kiss, but her hesitation had spoken volumes — and so had the way she’d stood there, wary but with her lips slightly parted, a warm glow in her blue eyes telling him that she was not quite so standoffish as she wanted to appear. And he had felt how she’d responded…before reason kicked in and she took herself away from the situation before anything else could happen. Although he had wanted another kiss — and more — it was better to leave matters where they stood for now. She needed time to decide what it was she truly wanted.
