Despite myself, I gravitated towards the courtyard where all the Valkyrie squads had gathered for the special tutor session. Painfully aware I’d said I wasn’t going, I remained all the way in the back, hiding behind as many people as I could. I didn’t want a repeat of last time.
Luckily, I didn’t know the instructor and nobody seemed to be paying much attention to me. Everyone was too busy showing off their dark wings and their dusk wolves. Surrounded by so many Valkyries, I felt envy tug on my heart.
I shouldn’t even be here, but I couldn’t get myself to leave.
