Chapter 11: Calling In The Dark.

Luna's p.o.v

While I sat down to eat my food at the cafeteria, I noticed a familiar scent approached me, I looked up to see who it is. It's Crescent, can't this guy just leave me alone?

I noticed he has been trying to get closer since morning. He placed his food on my table, wanting to sit down and dine with me.

I stood up immediately with my food and left him there. I wasn't ready for this.

I don't think this mate thing would work, and if it's ever going to work, he would have to give me time.

I fell asleep earlier than usual, I was very tired. I woke up to the sound of a loud howl, a wolf's howl. I wasn't scared but instead I stood up and followed the sound. From the sound of it, it must be very far from here.

I walked out of the house and my eyes met the moon, it was very beautiful, I stared blankly at it for a few minutes, the world around me disappeared. I could only see darkness and hear the continuous sound of the wolf's howl.

My eyes ignited as I stare at the moon, it glowed the same colour as the moon, reddish orange, ever so bright. I lifted my legs slowly and walked towards the sound of the howl.

The sound doesn't seem like that of just an animal, it felt like a calling, a magnetic force pulling me towards it. I have to complete this missing part of my puzzle.

I walked deep inside the forest for about three hours, the howl sounded closer, I stopped.

The sound was coming from a beautiful black wolf on the mountain.

The wolf also stopped howling, like it has gotten what it wanted.

My eyes stopped glowing hypnotically. Then I looked around, I wasn't the only one here, Lyall was here, Crescent, two guys and a girl I didn't know.

We all stood forming a circle, the black wolf came forward and to my surprise it shifted and turned into a beautiful woman. Miss Amarok?

So she is a werewolf too?

She stood naked before us and started saying everything we needed to hear, because I am sure as hell I am not the only one confused here.

"It feels good to finally have my pack back, I know you have questions, I would too. But the time has come to finally restore peace to Garou, we would avenge our father's death and live life without fears" she said, her voice sounding high and mighty.

"Alpha Crescent and Beta Kai and Luna, you have the most work to do here, let me break it down. Sixteen years ago, the vampire king won a war against us, leaving most of our people dead, he wanted to be the strongest so he killed each and everyone of our parents who were warriors".

"Luckily, a seer prophesied that a marked Alpha would kill the Vampire king and restore peace back to the kingdom after the next blood moon"

We all looked up to the sky and indeed there was a blood moon, shining ever so red.

"The Moon will give us the ability to unlock our powers fully, so we would start training on how to bring our kingdom back. Alpha Ruric did a good job, I hope his son will too. Tomorrow at school everything starts".

We all turned our back and left, it was certain this is a new page everyone of us.

Lyall held my hand in his, we walked for a while and then took of in wolf's speed, we were faster than usual, I guess it's the moon affecting our powers.

We got home in less than thirty minutes, I didn't say anything to Lyall, neither did he. Everything still felt like a dream, but we knew as hell that it was real.

I can't believe our parents are dead, and that's just because some stupid Vampire king wanted all the power for himself.

It was almost dawn already, I didn't bother sleeping. I prepared myself for school.

I went downstairs and met George and Lyall, they were discussing something.

It will be very hard to explain what happened earlier to George, I think i would have to duscuss that with Lyall, we would explain everything to him once we have figured all this s**t out.

Lyall sensed my presence and looked over, so did George.

"Hey darling, how was your night?" George asked out of concern.

"It was good" I lied, it wasn't, it still very hard processing all the information I got.

"Why didn't you too get enough sleep yesterday, you both look pale"

"Really?" I asked.

"It would hard for others to see, but I can, You should get enough sleep" he said.

"Okay!" I nagged.

"Lil sis, I was discussing my new ice hockey coach with George" Lyall said enthusiastically.

"What's up with that?" I asked.

"Coach says he refuses to be our coach anymore and we are getting a new coach. Seriously.. semi finals is around the corner" he said with worry in his voice, but I knew that worry was coming from another part of him.

"That's bad" I replied.

We talked about the coach stuff for a while, till i noticed his unease, something was bothering him.

“Spill it”

“I found my mate too” he said with a sigh, I guess he doesn't like her.

“The other girl in the pack?”

“No… It's Crescent's brother”

Well… That's a twist. Now I know why he is worried.

We got to school, I think we just needed to distract our minds.

School seemed more different than usual, I still can't believe, there are other were-kids in this school, everyone just hiding their dark secrets.

I am impatiently waiting for all Miss Amarok has to say, I like the fact that I am getting to know more about my origin.
