Chapter 12: 'Garou'

I met a strange book inside my locker, I took a look at it. 'Garou' was boldly written on it. Then it dawned to me that it was part of Mrs Amarok's plan.

I still find it hard to believe, I have lots of questions.

How am I the Alpha?

Is Luna my Luna?

How is Kai my Beta?

My real parents are dead?

It's all still hard to take in. Now, there is an upcoming war and a prophecy states that I will kill the vampire king.

I can't even kill a goat!

And I will have to lead a pack, seriously? It feels like it's all getting worse. I can't get things settled with Luna, she is avoiding me.

I walked slowly to my class while I scrutinize the book.

I opened the first page of the book , it consists of different topics. 1, 'A Garou' 2, 'Origin and traditions' 3, 'Shape shifting (the five forms)'. Jack approached me and I immediately covered the book. It won't be nice for him to see this.

"Hey bro" he greeted.

"Hey dude" i replied.

"You know that blonde chick I told you about"

"Yeah"

"I have gotten her"

"That's nice, I hope this one lasts"

"No, they never last" he said as he stopped by his locker.

Unserious fellow.

Can't he just stick to one girl? Well that ain't my problem.

It's crazy how Miss Amarok got us to meet at the detention class. Now, we are all seated in fake detention. She played it so well that it looked like we are in trouble but we are not.

All six of us, Luna, Lyall, Merida, Jason, Kai and I.

Kai isn't a student, he came just for the 'Garou' stuff, it's crazy how the howl brought him down here and yesterday when he heard that he was the beta, he wanted to know more so he came here.

Mom and Dad were surprised, only I know the real reason why he is here, but it will work well, after everything is settled he will return back to work.

There were two rolls of three chairs, Luna, Kai and I sat at the front and the other three at the back. I wanted to sit close to my Luna, we all sat for about 5mins, waiting for our teacher. No one said anything, we were all in suspense. Everyone eager to know what this is all about.

Miss Amarok came in with a bright smile on her face, she looks sharp as ever.

"Good day class" she greeted.

She took a marker and wrote on the board 'A Garou'

"Again I will say, it's good to have my pack back. I won't speak to you as a teacher today but as a member oif our pack. I am the pack's Gamma, and the oldest member of the pack, but I am not the leader here"

"The leader of our pack is Alpha Crescent, he is the son of the late Alpha king. I have waited for years wanting you all to come of age and that happened precisely before the blood moon. As humans we all have our filial duties and as Garou werewolves we do too"

"I am sure before I came in the picture you all had questions about your identity. Your parents were forced to send you here before they were killed, each and everyone of us here are the only members of a complete pack, so our pack is the last pack, the only chance of getting our kingdom back".

"Before I proceed, I will answer one question from each of you" Luna raised her hand immediately.

"Yes Luna"

"Aside from the vampire king, are there any other vampires?"

"Yes there are, I have sensed some around the school even. There are also other mystical creatures too, supernaturals like us"

Lyall raised his hands.

"Mystical creatures like Mermaids, Sirens, Witches and Wizards, Gorgons, Psychics, you mean they all exists"

"You think humans just make that up in their heads, they might sugar coat it, but most of it is true"

I raised my hands and asked my question.

"Our senses and powers are all intact, but I think we find it hard to shape shift unlike you"

"Shape shifting takes time to muster, and I have a whole note on that, we would get to that later. But I am pretty sure you all have shape shifted before, under the coverage of a full moon".

We all nodded to that. This wasn't as easy as I thought, but I enjoyed the class. We all discussed our hidden fears and felt like one. It felt like I found my family, I could talk about the real me and no one would judge me.

After the class, I carried on with my plan of talking to Luna, I can't stand the fact that she is avoiding me.
