"Hi, Em! Good luck today!" I sent a voice note to Emma; letting her knew I was rooting for her in the back. She only had two hours of sleep and a whole night practicing her line for a case presentation in the hospital. Emma had been worried about me these days. She constantly asking about Lucius and his friends, not to mention that she had been stalking my phone, just in case Lucius had called. She warned me not to get involved with him. I was out to the gym from 8 am. I press the 'stop' buttoned as I got up from the treadmill before something bad happened to my legs. Washing my hair on the shower, the warm water made me flashed back to Lucius. The last brunch we had and the roasted crispy duck which he almost threw it away to the waitress still made me shivered. It was ashamed that he had such a terrible kind of attitude. I quickly shrugged it off and turned off the water. I looked at myself in the mirror. The more I stared into myself, the more the image of my Mom appeared. I sighed heavily and turned around from the mirror. I guess I just missed her. I decided to go to a nearby cafe to have a dessert for my mouth and lighten up my mood. A bell ring when I opened the door and stepped into the cozy room. The smells of chocolate and butter made me smile. The customers were busy talking amongst themselves, and some others liked to enjoy their own cake alone—this grandma for example. I smiled back at her when she looked up to me: she might feel the presence someone had been staring at her. My gaze darted to the glass counter, many cakes were being displayed in it. "Table for—?" The waitress came beside me. "One person in the corner please," I answered, my eyes still focused on the cake in the glass counter. Which one—Cheesecake, chocolate, or the red velvet? After five minutes decided which one to order, I followed where the waitress had wait for me, exactly on the corner. But she put another chair opposite from the other one and made me confused. "It's okay--I am alone," "Table for two-person?" She questioned me, annoyed showed on her face. "—yes, thanks," My voice was being cut off by a sudden voice. The figure startled me as I turned my head around. "W-what are you doing here, Lucius?" He had sat on the chair and adjusted his leather jacket, I blinked a few times, surprised showed on my face. Lucius shoved his black hair to the back and grinned at me. What the hell was he smiling for? Just three days ago he almost crush a girl's skull and now he was acting like this. "Sit," he said, motioned me to sit. I sat whilst kept my eyes on him. A minute later, the waitress came back and brought a simple note to write down our orders. "--Cheesecake and hot chocolate," I said to the waitress, my eyes still focused on Lucius who was staring back at me with his dull eyes. "And you, handsome?" I rolled my eyes at her statement and Lucius smirk at the sight. "Same with her," he said, shooing her with his left hand, uninterested. "You don't like cheesecake," I said, half-joking, which turned out to be true. "No—," He adjusted his leather jacket. "--but one cake will not enough for you," he said, half-whispered, his voice turned husky when he said those words. "Tell me—," I cleared my throat. "why are you following me?" "—Am not," he said, tapping his fingers on the table. "—yes you are," and Lucius creased his eyebrows. "The cafe is cozy enough to kill the time—and I happen to meet you here," He trailed off. "Tell me again," I took a deep breathed. "--But tell me the truth," I said, staring hard at him. He seemed hesitant to answer. On the corner of my eyes, I saw the waitress earlier walked towards us, brought our food and put it on the table. "Cheesecake for you, handsome," she chirped in, touched his shoulder lightly whilst my own cake had been put rather harshly caused my forehead to crease. What the hell girl? This time Lucius looked up to her and showed his canine teeth. "Could you please f**k off," My eyes widened in shock. "--I'm in the middle conversation with my fiancee," The girl's expression turned to be a sour as she looked back at me and then to him, I send her an apologetic smile as she turned her heels and walked away. "--you don't have to be that rude you know," Lucius shrugged his shoulder nonchalantly and pushed his cheesecake towards me. "Eat," I bite my lips and nodded. "--There's someone has been following you," my eyes widened and I stopped munching the cake. "What?" Lucius leaned back against his chair and smirk curved on his lips, "they had been constantly following you." "No way—" I said in terrified. "It's you!" He seemed taken aback a bit. "Y-yes--f**k, no!--I mean there's someone out there has been following you and will harm you," Why did he stutter that much? "What happened to you?" He wasn't Lucius I knew three days ago. His cruel behavior wasn't shown today instead, I received another different mood of Lucius. "—like I said before I will see you on three days, remember?" I shook my head and shoved another piece of cake to my mouth. "That's not what I meant—you were heartless and scary back there—you want to throw the roasted duck away—" He glanced up around the room and duck my feet under the table which made me groaned. "Stop it!" and he duck my feet again. "Lower your voice," he stated and I glanced at the other customers—some of them had turned their heads to us. "Who's the guy you were talking about?" He looked around the room, "—I'll explain to you later, too much noise." After our food finished, which he only drink a cup of hot chocolate, Lucius followed me to a bus station. His hand shoved into his leather jacket and we walked side by side. Even the way he walked, they held so much charisma in it. "—why are you keep seeing me?" I asked, blurred my thoughts. "What do you think?" He asked and I looked at his blue eyes. "—I don't know," I breathed, captivated by his eyes. He was cruel and dangerous. "—you have to stop seeing me," I added as I looked down. The words of Emma had ringing in my head. "—I am afraid I can't do that," his voice was stiff and tensed, I was about to protest but suddenly, his hand was stopping me, held me like a cage. "Wha--" My body was being shoved behind him. I peered from his broad shoulder. Lucius had pulled out a gun, I even didn't get a chance to blink, his hand was as fast as an excellent shooter. There was a bald man, with a muscular build or more as a WWF Superstar had waiting for us. Lucius gripped onto the gun, his eyes were sharp looking at his enemy ahead. "Who is he?" I half-whispered. "Remember what I said before?—this man has been following you," My eyes widened, and my heartfelt like stopped for a second. "Toretto," Lucius snarled and there was like a lightning strike through my brain. *flashback* "f*****g Toretto!" He bawled. The wound kit on my hand fell to the floor caused his head swiftly turned on my direction. I quickly gathered the things and mouthed 'sorry' then walked slowly to approach him. *end of flashback* The bald man laughed, like literally laughed. "Your father has been dying to know who's the chick, Lucius," He licked his own lips and looking straight to me. This bald man seemed pervert and it terrified me. I grabbed Lucius's leather jacket and hide my face further to his back. The smell of his fresh perfume was slightly made me intoxicated. "Tell him to mind his own f*****g business," Lucius spat, his voice became heavy and hoarse. "You know he can't," The bald man shouted. "Well, then you leave her alone." "You know I can't," He sneered. "Why?" I interrupted. "Sshh," Lucius shut me in a low voice as he glanced over his shoulder to look at me. "--I want you to get in the car when Mason arrived," he whispered cautiously. "W-what?! No! I don't want to--" "I'll catch up on you later, okay?" He turned his head back to the bald man and started to set the bullet. His callous finger was ready to fire anytime he wanted. Five seconds of silence and I heard the sound of car honk on the highway, I looked back to see the car coming with such a high speed, making a screeched sound as it stopped behind us. "Get in the car, Genevieve!" Lucius's voice brought my focus back as I started to run to the car, and Mason opened the back door as I stepped inside. Breathe. Breathe. Breathe. "W--what about him?!" I panicked. God! My heart was going to explode, they pumped harder made it hard for me to calm down. Mason stayed silent and turned us around in such an excellent driver skill. The other car had stopped immediately and my head accidentally hit by the window's car. I turned my head around to the pavement. Lucius still had the gun on his hand and a gasped left my mouth when I heard the sound of a gun being fired in a distance. Lucius had shot the bald man down.
