The car pulled over to my apartment and as soon as Mason got out from the car, he opened the back door and dragged me out, tugged me by my arms and we started to walk faster to the building. My arms hurt as I winced in pain, but no sound came out. We stepped into the lift and after the door closed, Mason loosened up his grip on my arms and leaning his head on the wall. We both let out a heavy sighed. "—this is insane," I laughed dryly as I glanced up to him and Mason did the same. "You haven't seen the worse," Mason said gruffly. "Oh no—I want to live in peace," Mason didn't have a chance to answer as the door lift being opened and I stepped out first. I regained my power to unlock the door to my apartment room, my legs still a little bit shaking and wary as I stepped into the familiar room. Mason walked passed me and stomped his legs on my floor, directly checking out the place—like I was a landlord lady tried to sell the apartment to a newcomer. "What are you doing?" I locked the door and put the keys on my pocket. "Make sure you safe—" he peeked out the curtains before closed them fully, made the room dark. I turned on the lamp and sat on the sofa. "I am scared," I blurted out and Mason stopped walking. "—that's why Lucius had been following you," I creased my eyebrows and was about to protest but Mason added quickly, "he wants to make sure you're safe—from them," I felt relieved for a moment. Who is this man?—Toretto," I asked. "He's enemy—that would make everything easier," Mason might not be a type of men who would like to explain something in detailed. "Why does he want me?" "Because you have some kind of relationship with Lucius," He seemed unsure. "I don't have any kind of relationship with Lucius—hell, I even don't want to befriend with him. He keeps coming back—and let's not forget he kidnapped me three days ago. How are you supposed to call us with that?!" I protested. "I don't know—you ask yourself to him," Mason seemed tried to avoid the subject and peeked out the curtains. "What is it?" I asked him, curious. "f**k!" He cursed rather loud and pulled out his phone "What are you doing?" I was getting worried and wondered when will this situation ended. "--Typing up the numbers," Mason rolled his eyes before looking down on his phone. "Mason—" "Three cars in front of the building—they knew where she lived—you did not—what?!—f**k, okay," with that he hunged up. "Is that Lucius?" Mason didn't need to answer because I already knew the answer by the time he chose to stay silent. I paced back and forth in the room, and glanced up several times to the hanging clock. "God! I have an evening shift! I have to go to work," I complained and started to rush to my bedroom. "—you can't! just text your friend that you're sick. they still searching for you!" Mason called out and I swung my body around. "Hey! I am the innocence one in here! Why don't you just go out and tell them I am not involved with Lucius and they might searched for a wrong person!" "—still you can't go to work—Lucius is already on his way," there was a part of me that need to punch Lucius on the face for what he had getting me into. Just him wait. I decided to change my clothes into my uniform and wait for Lucius on the sofa. Mason was busy typing something over his phone and did not pay any attention to me or how my legs still shaking. I wasn't weak. I told myself many times. Ten minutes later we heard a door being knocked forcefully, we both startled at the sound. Mason was the first to stand up and pulled out his gun, aimed it towards the door. I followed him behind and clutched on my stethoscope. Who was it? Someone out there was trying to crush the door and barged inside. "You don't have a peephole," Mason complained under his breath and I once again smile in apologetic of my lack of hospitality. "f**k you, Lucius," Mason lowered his gun when Lucius succeeded to barge in to the room. My door! "Look what you have done!" I protested and Lucius turned his head to the door. Without a word, he lifted up the door a bit and slammed it hard—I heard the door clicked as if they had found it matched. "Done," Lucius said nonchalantly. Both of them walked straight to the living room living me alone on the corridor. One thing—both of them didn't take off their shoes. "Take off your shoes," Neither Mason and Lucius pay attention to the words I said. "How did you manage to stay out of sight?" Mason asked whilst peeked out through my window. "Six men were outside, two-person gets inside the building," Mason added. Lucius just about to reply when I jumped beside him and gave him my first punch on the shoulder, hit him with both my hands several times. "What on earth—" Lucius groaned, effortlessly grabbed my arms and stopped me. He noticed me panting before some tears started to trickle down from my eyes, that was when he knew what was wrong. "I am sorry," was all he could say. He released his grips and I lifted my hand to cover my face as I sobbed into tears. Mason cleared his throat awkwardly and I heard his stepped walk to the kitchen, purposely leaving us alone in the living room. "I told you not to come near me again!" I blurted out, my tears still falling from my eyes as I held them tight with both of my hands. I felt embarrassed to cry infront of him again. But I was scared. This was my first time to have this horrible situation. I heard Lucius let out a heavy sigh. "Do you have an answer for that?—why do I keep seeing you?" He said slowly, made sure I absorbed all of them and proceeded it to my brain. "We can't be friends—you're too dangerous to me," I explained. "You have to leave me alone, and call it out this bullshit and tell your enemy to stay away from me!" I sniffled and wiped the tears away from my eyes and some mucus might dripping from my nose. Lucius tried to calm me, his thumb rubbing lightly in small circles on my thigh. I tied my hair into a messy bun whilst kept my eyes closed, I wasn't ready to look at him yet. But when it was done and I opened my eyes, I found Lucius was already staring at me. His blue eyes held no emotion, I just wondered if he had one actually. "—I think I might have an interest in you, Genevieve," He half-whispered to me, observing my expressions. My voice won't come out as I stunned there, staring back at him. "—I am afraid I can't leave you alone like I should have done when I first met you—" I sniffled and creased my eyebrow. "Why?" I asked, my voice broke. "—I am sorry you get involved with this kind of thing. But if you let me—" "Let you what?" The tears began falling again. "—but if you let me in I will protect you and—" "I don't want to involve in this kind of things," I hurriedly said and he curtly nodded. "You already get in, darling, whether you like it or not--there's no going back," "No," I breathed, horror showed on my face. "It's not safe for you to live here anymore, Genevieve," Lucius lifted his hand and pushed a stray of my brown hair to behind my ear as we kept holding each other gazed. "What do you mean?" I looked into his eyes, searching for lies he had been hide. But I found none. He swiped his thumb accross my cheeks to clear some of the tears away. "They will hunt you—" "Why me?" Lucius gave me a weak smile. "Because—," he paused. "I might have breaking out the rule," Lucius leaned closer until our lips were inches apart. His eyes practically moved to my lips then to my eyes. "What rules?" I breathed and Lucius licked his lips. "—fallin in love?" He smirked before closed his eyelids as I parted my lips to welcome his touch. I felt my body flushed and warms the moment our lips mingled together in a slow motion. Lucius sucked in deep breathe, breathing in my scent. His lips was soft and addicted, I found myself leaned further into him.
