❤Grecia
Looking around this new room made me feel one thing. Terrified. The room itself was large and mostly empty. The testing rooms. I watched as Aria and Killian whispered together. What was going on? The testing room was the only information we had been given when we had been brought here. What kind of testing where they planning on doing? I could feel that I wasn’t the only one that was anxious about this. I glanced over at my cellmates and sighed. The chains had been taken off from our ankles but other than that, I had no idea what to expect. It was that in itself that terrified me.
“Alright, I just want to point out that the walls and roof are made with solid steel and are unbreakable. Do not get any ideas about trying to escape,” Killian said as he moved towards us. “When I call out your name, step into the middle of the room, and shift into your dragon form. Again, do not try to escape,” he walked away, and I sighed. We had to shift, that wasn’t so bad, but what else did we have to do?
“Jyrog,” the sound of his name sounded foreign coming from Aria, but I watched as he slowly stepped forward until he was in the middle of the room. In fact, we all watched him as he slipped off the light grey jacket, blue top, and denim. Just in his boxers, I admired the way he shifted. It was graceful and elegant. In a matter of seconds, he had transformed into a mighty dragon. Not only did I understand why he is a Lord, but his dragon demanded it. His piercing dark golden eyes scanned the room and that in itself was pretty intimidating. Two enormous horns sat proudly on top of his head, just above his narrow sharp-looking ears. His dark red scales seemed to shimmer as he slowly moved from side to side, his long tail moving swiftly with its pointed tip. Magnificent was the word that came to my mind as I continued to admire him. Whilst doing so, I missed the first test, but I watched as he slowly lifted upwards, his strong wings flapping quite rapidly. I wasn’t sure what was happening, but the pure strength was amazing. Some sort of fireproof doll thing was brought in but Jyrog had no problem burning it to a crisp. It was quite exciting to watch even though I knew at some point it would be my turn. All the males, Jyrog, Nyken, Zylla, Elzran, and Cannyn were just downright amazing. When Tagyn was called up, that’s when I started getting nervous. Although watching her perform the tests wasn’t all that but she wasn’t weak. Ediroa was next and then finally it was my turn. When I heard my name being called out, I went forward. I wasn’t looking forward to this, but I slipped off the dark blue summer dress I had stupidly chosen to wear and ignored the catcalls from whichever males dared to be that low. I had a mate and Colin wouldn’t be hesitant to rip them into tiny little pieces. I smiled as I closed my eyes and welcomed my dragon. It had been far too long since I had shifted, and it felt wonderful. I didn’t have to look around to know that everyone was shocked. I was what many called: rare. Dragons raged from colors of red to dark orange, green, blue, and even black. Somewhere even lucky to be a charcoal grey or even coral pink but I had been bored with the blackest hair and so many assumed my dragon is black. Shocker, my scales glimmer a bright white, and my crystal blue eyes focused on my first target. I flapped my large wings as hard as I could and finished off the other silly little tests. By the time I was back in human form, I was hungry, annoyed, and oddly tired. Keanu kindly led us to the dining hall for a late breakfast and I was admittedly sad that I hadn’t gotten time to see Colin. It seemed that this was the kind of thing these idiots wanted. Testing our strengths and weaknesses. After breakfast, we were taken back to our cell with our chains secured around our ankles. This whole thing was had become the new normal and way of life that I was scared we would never get to leave. Colin had told me about their testing, but I had no idea if others had been tested yet. Aside from the witches. Who knew? I sat down on my bunker bed and watched the others tiredly go into the bathroom and whisper among themselves. This wasn’t easy on any of us and I hated it. All I could hope for is that one day everything will return back to normal. Or at the very least, some kind of normal. As I laid down on my back, staring up at the bed above me, I thought about the fact that my mate is a wolf. Not just any wolf but a witch too. Colin’s future has already been laid out for him and right now I knew that he wouldn’t leave that behind, in fact, he would probably expect me to join him. How was I, a dragon shifter, going to fit into a wolf pack? Was it even possible? These were questions I had but wasn’t sure of the answers. It also wouldn’t help to ask Colin about it because we didn’t even know if we would ever get out of here. Sad but true.

Waking up by the sound of the others wasn’t as refreshing as I had thought it would be. Sitting up, I looked around and spotted Keanu at the gate. Was he here for time out or was it lunchtime already? By the loud sound of my tummy rumbling, I guessed it to be around lunchtime.
“Come on, we don’t have all day, get a move on,” Keanu snapped out impatiently. I got up and rubbed my eyes. I wasn’t bothered to do a quick check-up, all I wanted was to see Colin. Tell him about the testing and just be held tightly by my mate. I followed the others out and soon we were once again in the dining hall. The smell of junk food just filled my nose and I glanced over at the serving line with hunger. I couldn’t see what was being served but my mouth was watering enough to make me walk over and join the line. Colin could wait another few minutes. I smiled as I got closer and could see the piles of burgers, pizza’s and most importantly, fries. It was clear that everything had been made and not bought, the smell alone had my mouth watering. As I stood in line, I didn’t need to look around to know that Colin was in the dining hall. I could feel him and smell him. I quickly dished up a rather large plate of food and when I turned to go and sit down, there he was. Colin is nothing short of just plain sexiness. He was chowing down on a cheeseburger as he watched me closely. I smiled as I carried my tray over to his table and sat down across from him. I could only guess that other shifter groups had gone through the tests as it was quiet in the hall. The only sound that could be heard was eating, chair scraping, and every now and again a soft whisper. With a big sigh of relief, I bit down into the cheesy pizza slice and just moaned out loud at how delicious it tasted. Glancing up, I saw that quite a few shifters were watching me, including Colin. I blushed a deep shade of red and continued eating without making any more noise. Colin was finished before me, but he sat watching for me to finish. With the last fry in my mouth, I stood up and grabbed our trays. I didn’t need to say anything as I already knew that he would follow me. After disposing of the trays at the serving line, I headed outside, the chain around my ankle clinking as I walked.
“Did they put you through testing this morning?” Colin asked and I turned around to face him. I had to admit that this island was beautiful. Aside from this horrible situation, Colin looked downright perfect with this kind of setting behind him.
“Yes, they did,” I answered. Colin shook his head, and I could tell he didn’t like it.
“I just wish that whatever it is that they want, they could get over it already,” he complained as he pulled me towards him. My heart started pounding harder, faster as I shivered from pure delight as he held me close to him. I breathed in his scent and relaxed. I didn’t realize I had been so tense.
“So, do I,” I whispered.

Another day of testing, why wasn’t I surprised? I shifted uncomfortably in my seat and looked at the others sitting alongside me. The first one that had been called in was Jyrog and although he hadn’t been gone for long, it was clear that the others were where uncomfortable. Colin had mentioned that after the physical testing, they would call us in for mental testing. I wasn’t sure if he had gone for it yet as he hadn’t been clear on that. I cringed as my behind started to ache from sitting down on such a hard chair. How long had we been sitting here? I had thought that it hadn’t been too long but now I was having my doubts. I closed my eyes and relaxed as best as I could.
“Grecia?” the sound of my name being called is what eventually woke me up and opening my eyes I knew I was going to be stiff from falling asleep in this stupid chair. “Grecia, are you ready?” I looked up to see Aria smiling warmly at me and I slowly nodded. I wasn’t ready, not at all but I couldn’t say that, now could I? I stood up and admittedly I stretched out my tense body. The others were gone. That was a surprise. Aria kept smiling as she gestured for me to enter the room. I went in and looked around, it was definitely different from the cell and dining room. This room was warm and cozy. The sandy brown carpeted floors and bright white painted walls were a lovely sight to see. The large oak desk that stood in the middle of the room looked like something out of an antique magazine. The two wingback brown leather chairs complimented the room rather nicely. I was even surprised to see a large window that gave a calming view of the island. Palm trees with the beautiful colors of the flowers. There wasn’t much else in the room and as I sat down on the wingback chair, I smiled. Comfort. I watched as Aria got comfortable and how she got herself all organized. She looked through the piles of folders and selected one. I was curious as to what she had inside that folder as it was clear from my name printed on the front that it was mine. “You are quite the curious one, aren’t you?” she remarked as she opened up my folder.
“Yes,” I said simply. No reason to lie. “What have you got in there?” I asked.
“Grecia Exira, age eighteen, dragon shifter from the shadow faction,” she paused for a moment and then continued. “Born February twelfth, two thousand and two. Mother, Judith Parks, age forty-two born nineteen seventy-eight, dragon shifter from the warriors' faction. Father, Brian Exira, age fifty-one, born nineteen sixty-nine, a dragon shifter and Lord from the shadow faction. Shall I go on?” she glanced up at me and I nodded. Yes, I wanted to know exactly what kind of information she had on me. Granted I wasn’t impressed so far. “No siblings. Which I must say I find rather odd,” she glanced my way once again before she continued. “White scaled dragon, which I must say is quite impressive as well as unexpected. Wind force twenty-seven miles per hour, which was also quite impressive,”
“Ok, I’ve heard enough,” I spat out, annoyed.
“Why? I could go on. Shift speed, three-point two seconds,”
“I’ve heard enough,” I argued, no longer wanting her to go on. This was going to be a long day.
