Chapter 2: In The Night

The raven colored blanket draped over the sky, exhibiting a myriad of shimmering stars. The last scent of warm air vanished into the air and was replaced by a fresh breeze. That was mainly the reason why you had step foot outside your dorm. You wanted to be connected with nature and let them cleanse you away from the worries. Your (h/c) hair dangled below your shoulders. It danced through the wind like Imperata cylindricas during the day. The moon glistened just as bright as the diamonds in the sky. It cast a ray of light that showered you with a plethora of heaven's gleam. You began to wander all around kicking pebbles and reminiscing about your past. The past that you wished you had long forgotten.

**Flashback**

The thumping of footsteps grew louder and louder. You turned around and to your horror a titan was approaching you. 7-meter class, no, a 15-meter class. It's bulging eyes stared down into your soul as if it could detect your fear. Its mouth was stretched out, big enough to swallow everyone in the whole village. Fear clenched both your throat and heart, suffocating you. All of a sudden a faint voice called out your name.

"(y/n)......." you spun around and saw your sister under a huge boulder. Her head was poured in blood.

"Ari!!" You gasped as you tried to pull her out. You tugged and pulled her hand but it didn't work.

"(y/n)....just... go... leave me here. Even if you manage to pull me out, I won't be able to run and escape. My bones...are shattered. There's nothing you can do. Run...Run... Please." She begged.

Tears started to stream down your face as you sobbed uncontrollably. The thought of leaving your sister behind was too much for you to take in.

"NO IM NOT GOING TO--"

"I SAID RUN!" She raised her voice as the titan slowly approached.

"IM GOING TO SAVE YOU EVEN IF IT MEANS MY OWN DEATH!" You vowed.

"N-NO DONT! GO AWAY! PLEASE! JUST GO AWAY!" You ignored her cries and continued pulling her and pushing the rock away but unfortunately, it was futile.

As you were pulling her out, Ari muttered words that deeply wounded your heart.

"(y/n),, I've always hated you..... I regret so much taking care of you when mom and dad left us. I should have left you too. I hate you so much....." Your eyes widened as the tears in your eyes started blurring your vision. You couldn't believe what you just heard. Did she really hate you? Without realising, you released her hands.

"So just f*****g GO AND GET OUT OF MY LIFE!" she shouted. Your heart broke instantly.

Despite that, you still loved your sister. Nothing could change that fact. And because of that unconditional love, you had to obey her even it means escaping and leaving her behind. You had no choice but to run away. You ran as fast as your feet could take you.

The sound of the boulder being lifted and the screams of your sister echoed. By now, she should be in the titan's grasp. You turned around one last time only to see half of your sister's body being eaten by the titan. You gasped and continued running, not looking back.

'I'm sorry. I'm so so sorry. I AM SO SORRY ARI!"

**Your sister's POV**

(Y/n) didnt want to leave despite me begging her to run away. (Y/n),, you must live! Dont die!

I had no choice but to lie to her," (y/n),, I've always hated you..... I regret so much taking care of you when mom and dad left.I should have left you too.I hate you so much....SO JUST f*****g GO AND GET OUT OF MY LIFE!"

I could see the sadness reflected in (y/n)'s eyes.

'I'm so sorry (y/n).. I just had to lie to you. For your own safety....so that you'll leave me and not get eaten.... I'm sorry,'

She loosened the grip on my hands and ran away. Though I was about to meet my demise, I smiled in relief.

'Live,(y/n)' I thought as the titan grabbed me and munched half of my body, my feet to my stomach. Then with my last moment, I mouthed out (y/n)'s name.

****End Of Flashback****

**(y/n)'s POV**

You felt tears streaming down your face. Instantly, your legs buckled and you dropped to the floor crying your heart out. The pain of losing your only sister was unbearable and could never be compared to anything.

"I'm such an i***t!" you yelled and gave strong punch to the ground.

By now, everything had already felt numb to you. So it didn't matter how many times you punched it or how hard it was. The blood that flowed down your hand was just red liquid, nothing more. Nothing mattered at all. In the midst of hurting yourself, a deep voice appeared from the dark.

"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?!"

You spun around and saw Levi still in his scout regiment clothes. You could tell he stayed up all night doing his paperwork. You wiped the tears off your face and stood up saluting Levi.

"Nothing, Levi-heichou." You hold back your tears. Levi saw the blood on your fist.

"Tch. Stupid fool." He took your hand and took out his napkin dapping onto the blood when you slipped your hands away from Levi's grasp.

"It's NOTHING!" You raised your voice. With that, you stomped away when a hand yanked you back by the arm. The next thing you knew, your head was resting against his chest. Levi embraced you tightly. The warmth that cocooned you made you feel secure once again. However, you didn't want to let him win over you. Furious, you pushed him away with the remaining strength. You've always hated Levi, a lot! And him hugging you made it 10 times worse. But somehow, something was sparking in your little heart. Like a fire yearning for something to make it grow bigger.

"Wha-what are you t-trying to do?" You asked in confusion.

"This," Levi moved his face closer to yours, closing the gap between your lips and his. Time went still as both lips touched. You could feel your heart pounding than it normally would. He wrapped his arms on your waist pulling you closer. His slender fingers ran through your hair then to your chin.

It was a soft yet comforting kiss. It completely erased the fury that was buried deep in your heart. Right now, you had no choice but to give in and enjoy the kiss. Not because you liked him or anything, it just felt comfortable. But what if that wasn't the reason why you enjoyed the kiss. What if the real reason was because.....

"No, no, snap out of it, (y/n)!" You scolded yourself in your thoughts and backed out. With anger, you slapped him across the face.

"YOU! YOU JUST STOLE MY FIRST KISS! And and... WHY ARE YOU EVEN KISSING ME? AAAAH! DONT YOU EVER DO THAT AGAINN!" you turned around when he grabbed your arm once more.

"I didn't say you can go now. I'm still not done with you yet." He smirked and threw you to the ground pinning you so that you wouldn't escape. He was right on top of you. He slid his lips towards your neck slowly planting kisses on it. A tingling sensation ran through your body. He then glided his lips to your ear and bit it.

"L-Levi Hei-chou!" You tried calling his name. However, he only ignored you and began kissing your collarbone. Suddenly, a rustling sound was heard. Levi clicked his tongue and stood up immediately. He looked at you one last time before leaving the confused you on the ground. You sat back up and blushed upon the sensation.

It was too much for you to handle. For him to steal your first kiss was mindblowing. Your captain, Levi, just kissed you, a regular boring cadet.
