Chapter 18: Warrior

You and the others proceeded into the forest for the next training, killing the dummy titans.

After receiving instructions to kill as many dummy titans as you guys can, you guys separated to find the dummies. At first you couldn't find one, but after what seemed an eternity searching for it, you found it. You plunged your blades into the nape of the dummies neck and dragged it,cutting it.

"Yoshi!" You cheered and glide away looking for more when suddenly an unexpected flashback flashes through your mind. The flashback that should've been long gone.

"(Y/n),," a man stood right infront of you holding an injection needle. You stepped back afraid of what's going to happen.

"Because of these injections, your memories will be damaged. So it's pointless for me to explain it to you right now. Just remember this,, Retake Wall Maria and reach the basement together with Eren! This power will prove useful then! Eren has the key to the basement. Trust no one but Eren!" The man took a step forward towards you but you took another step back,distancing yourself away from him until you fell down backwards.

"Ouch!" You cried.

"Sorry, (y/n)......" He inserts the needle through your skin releasing the liquid in it.

Your eyes widened as you ran your fingers through your hand then rested your hand onto your right eye.

'Naniyo..W-what was that? Trust no one except Eren? Why?'

The more you think about it, the more your head ached. You let out a yelp while in the midair when suddenly the gas coming from your 3d maneuver gear stopped. The next thing you knew, you dropped to the ground with a big thud and that was when darkness engulfed you.

'Trust no one but Eren!!'

The man's voice echoed through your head and that made you woke up instantly. You sat there dumbfounded as you pulled your legs close to your chest.

"Hoo~" A lady's voice sang. You looked to the direction where the voice came from and noticed Nel.

"Nel...." You muttered while gritting your teeth. She smirked and skipp ed,circulating all around you.

"Have you ever wonder why Grim wants to kill you?" She quizzed while skipping with her hands behind her back.

"Out of revenge..."you answered.

"True~ BUT,, there's another reason."

Your body froze upon hearing her words. You looked at her perplexed as she walked towards you and positioned her lips near your ear.

"Because I told him to." She whispered as her hot breath brushes against your ear. She distanced away and faced you,eyes locked onto yours.

"Well not exactly me.Yeah, I do despise you for loving Levi. I despise you so much that I could kill you. You don't know the amount of restraint it took for me to not kill you. But guess what? Someone else told me to kill you for them. Isn't that a coincidence ?!" She laughed and soon it trailed away, replacing a serious tone.

"Wanna make a guess who they are?" Silence filled the atmosphere making it tense.

She leaned closer and whispered," Your parents...."

The tensed air clutched your throat, letting you have difficulties trying to get the words out. Rather than retorting, you remained silent as tears flowed out unknowingly.

"Yes. Thats right. They told me to kill you. Of course I don't want to get my hands dirty so I paid Grim to do all the work."

"Why.....?" you mummbled.

"Hm?"

"Why....WHY DO THEY WANT TO KILL ME?!" You yelled out of sadness. You felt no hatred nor anger. Just pure sadness. You couldn't bear to hate on your parents because you love them too much.

"Who knows..." Nel's voice trailed off as she walked away from you.

"OI IM NOT DONE WITH YOU. OI! NEL. FUJIOKA NEL!!" You shouted on the top of your lungs but there was no reply. You threw your hand over your face when you heard someone called out your name.

"Y/N! Are you alright? What happened?" Eren asked worriedly.

"Yes, I'm fine. I just ran out off gas." I replied and faked a smile. He was slightly surprised then placed his hand on his chin.

"Then I'll just have to carry you." He said and picked you up in a bridal style. The incontrollable heat rused to your face as your cheeks scorched with embarrassment making it turn into a reddish hue. The feeling of the butterflies in your stomach flapped their wings to the beat of your heart. Eren pulled you closer to his chest as he glides away to the gathering area.

Upon reaching the area,he landed on his feet but was still holding you.

"Eren...."

"Oh yes! Sorry." He gently placed you down and smiled at you. In the corner of your eyes, you could see a jealous angry Levi staring at the both of you. You slightly smirked and brought Eren away from the others. This time you put on a serious expression.

"What?" He asked,puzzled.

"I have something to tell you..... Remember when you told me about your flashback with your dad regarding the basement? And that he injected you."

"Y-yeahh?"

"Yeah, I had a flashback about it too! Though I'm not sure if it was your father whom injected me. But he told me not to trust anyone except you." You told him as he looked at you in surprise.

"And there's something I should tell you.... I haven't tell anyone about this." You leaned closer to him.

"The Armored Titan & Colossal Titan are Reiner & Bertholdt." You confessed in a low tone.

**Eren's POV**

"They're Reiner & Bertholdt." Her words echoed in my mind. Part of me wants to think that she's lying or that my ears deceived me. But the other, I just couldn't help but agree with her. Whenever I look at Reiner, he'll remind me of someone or something familiar. So familiar. Same goes to Bertholdt. But I just couldn't put my finger on it.

She explained to me about her, over-hearing the conversation between the two of them.

"Tell me you're lying. Tell me you're lying!!" I yelled as I clutched both her shoulders really tightly.

"Tell me you're l--" my words were interjected my (y/n).

"FACE IT EREN. ITS THE TRUTH." She retorted.

"You can shut it out for a time, but the truth ain't going away." She added and averted her gaze to the ground. I released her and clenched my fist.

'Reiner..You really were such a great guy. Always keeping your calm under any circumstances, looking at the bigger picture...and always thinking about your comrades before yourself. I respected you. I even remember thinking that I want to become like you.'

**(Y/N)'s POV**

"Armin, Eren, Mikasa , (Y/N). Meet me in my office right now. I've something important to tell you..." Hanji instructed firmly and walked away. You guys exchanged glances and followed her behind. You could see Armin fidgeting with his fingers nervously.

"Armin. What's wrong?" You asked.

"Y/N,, I-I think I know who's the armored titan & colossal titan." Armin nervously said. You widened your eyes upon hearing that and looked forward.

"Me too."

".........eh?"

You remained silent until you and the rest reached Hanji's office. Once you entered, the first thing you saw was Levi.

"Shorty alert." You mummbled which made Eren giggled. Levi's eyebrows twitched and was about to retort when Erwin interrupted.

"We need your thoughts in this matter."

"What is it?" Mikasa queried.

" The result of Annie Leonhardt's full background check finally came in. Among the trainee of the 104th trainee squad, there are 2 more people originating from the same area as her. Reinee Braun & Bertholdt Fubar. According to the bluff-out-the-enemy-plan,during our expedition, the two that I mentioned were in the group that was told that Eren was on the right flank. Annie came in to attack from the right flank as well. Now, just for the record, this alone doesn't really mean anything. I'd like to know their relationship between the three of them. Any thoughts on this matter?" Hanji said austerely. It's rare to see her acting like this.

Armin cleared his throat and began speaking ," I fought the female titan alongside Reiner & Jean. Reiner even got almost squeezed to death by her but he managed to slip out of Annie's grasp. But right after that, she changed course and ran straight to where Eren was... I surmised out loud that Eren might be around the back of the center of the formation. But Annie wasn't within earshot to hear my words. I offered my guess on Eren's location because Reiner promted me to. And there is more.. The female titan stared at her palm for a few moments after Reiner slipped his way out from her grasp.And i think it might have been because there were letters carved into it by the blade. By.....Reiner's blade."

'Damn, Armin is such a smartass!'

"Tch. Imma kill that brat." Levi stood up and was about to leave when Hanji stopped him.

"Wait! Dont! If we ever see Reiner & Bertholdt,, act like what you normally do ---"

"Yeah like cleaning the stables and shit."

"Levi!" Hanji shot him a death glare which made him tch-ed again.

"So that they won't suspect anything." She continued. "And of course don't mention anything about Annie. Regardless of whether their Annie's accomplices or not, we have to play it safe!"

You and Eren stared at each other for a moment and nodded.

"Ano....Hanji...."

"Mm?"

"They are Annie's accomplices......."

"........."

"........."

Silence filled the room as everyone was speeechless. Even Levi was surprised. You couldn't bear to be in an awkward silent situation so you cleared your throat and told them everything.

"HONTOU NI??" Hanji exclaimed.

"Yes."

"Hmm. I have a plan."

All of us, including Bertholdt & Reiner, were on the top of Trost's frontal walls.

"Today you guys will be fixing the artilleries. Make sure that all of them are fixed!" Erwin ordered and everyone saluted him.

"HAI!" Everyone scattered to fix the artilleries when Reiner called Eren.

"Eren...."

"Y-yes?" Eren stammered nervously as he turned around to face Reiner & Bertholdt that was 3 feet away from you & Eren.

"Come here for a sec...."

"Ha-Hai.." Eren nodded and looked at you nervously. You mouthed out 'everything is going to be fine.' to him when suddenly Reiner called you too.

"Y/N....you too."

You gulped and walked steadily towards them masking your nervous & worried expression. You came to a stop infront of Bertholdt. Eren was just right next to you. Reiner glared at you then averted his gaze towards Eren.

"Listen, Eren.. 5 years ago,, we destroyed the wall and launched the attack on humanity. I'm the Armored titan & Bertholdt is the Colossal Titan." Reiner told Eren bluntly.

"Wh-why are you saying this all of a sudden, R-Reiner?" Bertholdt seemed surprised. Reiner then ignore him.

"Our objective was to wipe out all the humans within the walls. But there's no need anymore..(Y/N),, I know you're aware of this... Of us being titans. But I need you & Eren to come with us.. If you come with us, we won't touch the wall ever again..."

You were surprised that he told you to follow him. All this while, you've been thinking that they wanted Eren only. But you were wrong...

"W-wait! Me too? B-but why?" You asked confusely.

"There's no time to explain. Just come with us. We gotta go now!" Reiner firmed and emphasised on the word 'now'.

"Right now?! Where to,anyway??"

"I can't tell you that but well...just think of it as our home village....So what's your answer?" He looked at both you & Eren.

At the corner of your eyes, you could see Mikasa staring. And she was holding on to the blade's hilt.

"It's not a bad deal for you considering the crisis will be averted with us leaving...." Eren replied.

"Hngrhh. I dont even know what to reply.. I--" your words were cut off by Eren.

"Look Reiner. You're just simply tired. R-Right Bertholdt?? No wonder you're a little delirious.." Eren faked a laugh and smacked Reiner's shoulder playfully. You stayed silent wondering how will they react next.

"A-AH! Y-yesssss. You're just simply too tired, Reiner." Bertholdt agreed with Eren as sweat trickled down his forehead.

"Why would you even want to have this talk with us. You can't expect us to simply agree and meekly follow you even if you ask, rightt?"

"Oh! Really??? Yeah thats right. Haah. What was I thinking?? Have I really gone mad or something?" Reiner mummbled.

"Anyways, lets get back to work. We--"

"I've been here for too long..." Reiner cut off Bertholdt's sentence.

"Reiner.............."

"I've spent 3 years of my life living here surrounded by fools,that's why I said a stupid thing like that. We were just brats who knew nothing back then... If only I'd never learned about those fools existence. I'd've never had to become the shitty pathetic bastard I am right now. I don't know what's right & wrong anymore.. But what I do know is that no matter what results my action and these consequences of my choices brought about, as a warrior, I gotta take responsibility and fulfill my duty till the bitter end!" Reiner clenched his fist and gritted his teeth as Bertholdt stared at him in awe.

"Reiner....REINER!! YOU'RE GONNA DO IT?! RIGHT NOW? RIGHT HERE?!" Bertholdt yelled panicking.

"Yeah......WE'LL SETTLE THIS HERE & NOW!" Reiner approached Eren at full speed when Mikasa came in between them and chopped off his arm. Mikasa spun around and used her other blade to cut off Bertholdt's hand. She then kicked him away with strength.

"(Y/N), EREN, RUNN!" Mikasa shouted while plunging her blades into Reiner's other arm. Mikasa drew back her blades and headed to Bertholdt.

"RUN!!" Armin yelled from far when he noticed Reiner walking towards you & Eren. You turned around and thats when a lightning bolt appeared. Both from Reiner & Bertholdt. Smoke appeared followed by the roar of a titan. They were now titans.

Reiner swiftly caught you & Eren with one hand while he used the other hand to grab Ymir.

'Ymir? Why Ymir? What has Ymir got to do with this?! WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING?!'

Reiner jumped off the wall, wanting to escape while Bertholdt swiped off all the people that was on the top of the wall. You turned to Eren who was looking at you,anxiously.You both nodded and began to bring your hand closer to the mouth.

'Reiner, Bertholdt. You're gonna pay for this! You're the cause for the deaths of my comrades. I won't forgive you. I'LL NEVER FORGIVE YOU.'

With force, you bit it as deeply as you could letting the blood ooze out. The lightning bolt hit both you & Eren but something was amiss .........
