A TENSED REUNION

The night of the exhibition,Alex reluctantly accompanied Christy to the gallery, where he encountered his father for the first time in years.The tension between them was so obvious that Christy had no choice than to ask Alex what the problem is.She sensed something was wrong and took Alex for a chat “Is there something you’re not telling me?” She asked, “yes but I will tell you everything” he replied with a sad looking smile.

As they mingled with the guest,Alex’s father expressed admiration for Christy’s work. “I never regret working with you,This exhibition is a huge success” He said while doing the rich men laugh. Christy decided to grab a drink for herself, leaving only Alex and his dad alone.

There was a long silence between them, they’re both looking down as if they lost something. “Do you want to see something more interesting” Alex father asked “Alright” he said. Alex father leads him to his office, showing him a lot of amazing arts, Alex just kept nodding he didn’t say a word to his dad.

After a while they began to talk, Sharing their perspective and emotions and slowly the walls between them starts to crumble.

“My boy I’m sorry” Alex father said with a teary face,He apologized for his past mistakes and Alex shared his feelings of hurt and abandonment “you shouldn’t have left us for another woman” he said while closing all his arm and using his other hand to close his mouth. The conversation was raw and emotional but it marked the beginning of a healing process for both of them.

Christy came back to where she left them but she couldn’t find both of them, she was standing while looking around to see if she can find Alex. While searching she saw him coming out of his dad office making a plain smiley expression “it’s gonna be fine baby” Christy said while giving him a hug.

When the exhibition was over Alex told Christy what had happened and everything his dad did in the past, she comforted him and wipe his tears while giving him a kiss on the lips.
