CHAPTER ONE
Alexandra stood there, eyes swollen in tears. How could her life turn out this way? How could her parents be this wicked? She looked at her mother, but her head was bowed down. She couldn't tell whether she felt sorry for what she was doing, or has she suddenly lost her feelings? “This can't be happening to me,” Alexandra whimpered, covering her face with her palms. She had cried out her eyes, but nothing changed. The monsters she called parents were still bent on selling her to a devil she's never met. “Why didn't Sir Royal come himself? Mr Dennis, her father asked. Ethan scoffed, “You expect us to answer that lame question?” He asked, raising his eyebrows. “I just want to know why he can’t come himself,” Mr. Dennis said, his voice shaking with anger. “Is he too proud to meet us?” Ethan scoffed at him. “You're not worthy of meeting him,” he said. “He's a busy man, he doesn't have time for people like you and you had better watch your tongue old man.” Alexandra felt a surge of anger at Ethan words. How could he talk to her father like that? Didn't he have any respect for them? Her mother finally looked up, her eyes red-rimmed from crying. “Please, Ethan,” she said. “Can't you just leave us alone? We'll do what you want, just don't hurt us.” Ethan's expression hardened more at her words. “I'm not going to hurt you,” he said. “I'm just here to make sure the deal goes through. Sir Royal wants her home, now!” Alexandra felt a chill run down her spine at his words. She was being sold like a piece of property, and no one seemed to care. “What if I don't want to go?” she asked, her voice shaking with fear. Ethan's expression turned cold again. “You don't have a choice princess, ” he said. "You're going to marry Sir Royal, and that's final." Alexandra felt a wave of despair wash over her. She was trapped, and she didn't know how to escape. “Let's stop all this drama, Dennis,” Ethan scowled. “We have to get going now. You and your wife can say your goodbyes to your daughter now.” Mr Dennis looked over at Alexandra, who was now sitting dejectedly on the floor. He had failed her. What kind of father sells off his daughter to pay off his debts? He couldn't even look her in the eyes, he was so ashamed of himself. “Your sister already packed your things. You should get going with them now.” Amelia? Alexandra looked over at her sister who was munching on her pies without any care in the world. Was that how much she hated her? She really wanted to get rid of her so badly and now she's got the chance. Amelia didn't even shed a single tear for her sister. She hated her that much. Now she's gone, she could have her parents and Kelvin all to herself. There'll be no twin sister stealing their attention away from her. She smirked. “Hey, get up!” Ethan snarled, making her shiver. “Sir Royal doesn't like being kept waiting, you know.” She got up from the floor and went straight to where Amelia had dumped her bag. As she walked over to the door, her bag in one hand with the men trailing behind her, she looked over at her family. How could they do this to her? She thought her parents loved her, but it seems she thought wrong. Of all the men to sell her off to, they chose to sell her off to Royal Damien. The devil himself. She hadn't met him, but the stories she's heard about him made shivers run through her spine. There was no way she could survive a second being his wife. “Hasten up your footsteps, girlie,” One of the men said calmly to her. “Raphael, if she isn't walking fast, then drag her to the car!” Ethan said to him, glaring hard at her, that she almost peed in her pants. “I can't do this,” Alexandra whimpered in pains. Raphael held her gently in her hands and led her to the car. He seems to be different from the rest. Alexandra thought to herself. The men had come with three cars to pick her up. She entered into one together with Ethan and Raphael, while the rest occupied the other two. Alexandra sighed. This day had started off well, but unknown to her, it was going to be a terrible day for her. As Raphael put the car in gear, she looked at her house. Her mom was standing by the window, looking at her. Their eyes locked, but she looked away. She can't look into those eyes. Those eyes that betrayed her. Soon, Raphael put the car in motion and it sped off, with the rest of the men driving behind them. Tears were streaming down her cheeks uncontrollably, and she wanted them to stop. She feared that Ethan was going to hit her or shout at her again, this time she was surely going to pee in her pants. “I'll advise you save your tears, wifey,” Ethan said, smirking mischievously. “You'll need those tears for Sir Royal.” “Give the girl a break, Ethan.” Raphael said to him. “She's now Royal's wife, we ought to respect her.” Ethan scoffed, “Respect my foot. She's just his mere property,” he said, looking at her disdainfully. “His mere property and nothing more.” “Let's leave Royal to decide that.” Raphael said, rather calmly. “Why don't you fix your eyes on the road instead, uhn?” Ethan snapped. “This girl isn't even his type.” Alexandra curled herself in her seat. These men weren't even helping matters. She could feel Raphael’s eyes on her, he was looking at her through the window. The way he had looked at her earlier, it was obvious he felt pity for her. She didn't fail to notice that he didn't refer to Royal as sir in his argument with Ethan and she wondered why. Raphael continued driving until they got to a quiet street in Taormina, Sicily. Alexandra gazed at the beautiful buildings they passed by. The luxurious hotels, the high end boutiques, all those beautiful landscapes. She knew Royal Damien was stinkingly rich, but was he that rich to afford a house in Taormina? Only the richest men lived here. Raphael drove until they got to the end of the street. It was very quiet and only few houses were there, all very beautiful and magnificent. Alexandra thought she had seen it all, until Raphael drove into the the most beautiful house in the whole of Taormina. Her mouth was wide open as they drove in. She completely forgot about her troubles and pain as she looked at the beauty before her. No doubt, Royal Damien was more than wealthy. “Get down!” Ethan shouted at her, jolting her back to reality. She shook in fear and hastily got down, holding her bag firmly in her hands. “You can be nicer, you know,” Raphael said, glaring at Ethan and he scoffed. Ethan held her roughly as they walked into the house with Raphael leading the way. Her heart was beating rapidly as they approached the big door. Whatever was inside, wasn't' going to do her any good, she was sure of that. As they stepped inside, a young man was backing them while making a phone call, with a glass of Screaming Eagle Cabernet wine in his hands. “Good afternoon, Royal, she's here,” Raphael said, getting his attention. He turned around and Alexandra could swear he was the most handsome man she had ever seen. He was so young! His face was strong and sharp, with eyes that pierce like a knife. His dark eyelashes made his eyes sparkle with intensity and a straight nose and full pink lips. She looked at his skin, very smooth and olive-toned, you could feel his Italian charm. There's a little scar just above his eyebrow, but it only added to his handsome look. As she looked closer at him, their gazes collided, and a sly smirk spread across his face, his eyes glinting with amusement. “Welcome to hell,” Raphael whispered in her ears.
