At some point, I must have fallen asleep. The soft mumbling of people in the room woke me up. I opened my eyes slowly, pissed someone had taken the liberty to draw the curtains. As my eyes adjusted to the light I noticed Lenny talking to the doctor.
“Rise and shine sleeping beauty,” Lenny said brightly as he noticed me. He came closer to my side.
“I heard you’re being discharged today.” He added with a smile.
“yeeeessss I am.” I immediately felt livelier. I didn’t care about what was waiting for me out there anymore. I knew I was capable of handling whatever would be thrown at me.
