James treated Samantha to her favorite film that evening. Her mother had never placed any value on her enjoyment. Thus, she had never been to a movie theatre until that moment.
"Why do you have such a soft spot for me, sir? Why do you keep attempting to make me happy and give me things I used to enjoy?" Who is watching the movie? Samantha questioned James.
Sam kept her hands on James the whole time everyone else watched the film, which caught him off guard.
When he attempted to move to a different chair, Samantha grabbed both hands and refused to let go of her perch on his shoulders. Her lips quivering, her heart racing, she kissed his shoulders. She can't put her finger on it, but she feels safe, and her heart is urging her to keep her hands on his shoulders.
James took his hand away from hers and told her he would sit in the empty seat next to them since he was too distracted by her to watch the film.
Samantha said nothing as she remained silent. Despite her general comprehension of James' motives, she felt a twinge of disappointment.
James invites Samantha to dinner after the movie, but Samantha is nervous about running into Johnson.
"You have nothing to be afraid of, Samantha. If possible, you should employ cunning strategies to counter adverse conditions. You felt like giving him a hearty slap now. Don't reveal your face while you hit him. Put this shawl over your face and smack him. You will like the game," James remarked and gave her the scarf.
Samantha threw on a shawl and walked over to Johnson while James turned off the main, cutting off the house's electricity supply.
Johnson yelled in anguish as he fell to the ground after Samantha repeatedly struck his nose. She promptly kicked his genitalia and bolted for the door.
James grabbed Samantha by the hand and rode off with her. On the way out, Samantha took off her shawl and gave Joseph a bear hug; her breasts rubbed firmly against James' back, causing him to squeal with excitement. She willfully compelled some hair to fall into her eyes. She smiled nervously when she caught her reflection in the rearview mirror, but James could tell she was quite comfortable around him.
He pulled over to the side of the road, instructed Samantha to wait inside the beach entrance for a minute or two, and then bolted for the nearest pizza joint.
"He truly loves me and cares for me. No one else seemed to be giving me any such consideration. But his worry is over something I just don't get. I need to figure out the cause as soon as possible before leaving the country. However, he and I just left the house; how is he supposed to come up with the thousand dollars necessary to study abroad?" Samantha questioned herself, oblivious that James had walked up and was keeping pizza nearby.
"If you keep acting like this, Madam, your patients will seek out other medical professionals. Your income will fall, and your thoughts will become unsettled as a result." James replied with a grin, but Samantha didn't return his grin.
James looked Samantha straight in the eyes as he asked her forgiveness for his earlier comments.
"Feel free to ask me anything or tell me anything you want, Samantha. Then why are you hesitating?" So James inquired, lifting Samantha's chin.
James was taken aback when Samantha announced her intention to forgo further schooling and instead begin working as a junior doctor in a hospital.
"I think you made the right call. But I'm curious as to what prompted you to make that choice, given that you're in the midst of an academic program but have your sights set on a career path that has nothing to do with what you're studying." James murmured, directing her attention to the ebbing and flowing of the ocean's waves.
Samantha stared at the waves and realized that she understood James' plan. However, he would need a substantial sum of money to carry it out.
"It is no longer your obligation to figure out the payment; instead, leave it to me, Samantha. I need you to guarantee that this will not enter your mind and interfere with your studies. Your whole life may shift in two years, and you won't have to give up the happy life you've built for yourself. You are safe from harm and can act of your own volition. Do you get it now?" James asked while holding a pizza slice close to her mouth.
"If I may, I'd want to pose a question." Samantha mustered the nerve to ask, bringing her trembling hand to cover her mouth next to his.
She shut her eyes and moved her mouth to kiss his fingers, but a frightened James pulled back.
It was too late to go home, so he left the pizza on the plate and insisted she eats a slice.
Samantha was perplexed by his cold rejection when she most wanted to become close to him. She grinned painfully, declared she was not hungry and got up from the beach.
Because Samantha had never known love or happiness before, James could see why she was angry, but he didn't want to touch her without first learning her heart.
Samantha sat down without touching James, letting her hair fall out in stray strands that eventually landed in her eyes.
James couldn't take his gaze off her naive expression and big, wide eyes.
In just a few minutes, they arrived at the residence, where they were met with the unexpected sight of a police car.
James climbed to his feet and inquired, "What happened?"
"Sir, we returned for Samantha since her mother filed a lawsuit against her for a substantial debt," the Inspector stated, motioning for Samantha to enter the car.
Samantha, at a loss for words, stared at James in panic. She wanted to call Andrea her mother, but the words would not come out.
James invited the Inspector inside, saying, "Please come with me at once, Inspector."
"Sir, you shouldn't bring a female medical student to the police station for questioning. If you could allow me a day to talk to Andrea, I'd greatly appreciate it ", James remarked, letting the Inspector keep a few dollars.
