Andrea laughed and claimed he couldn't take Samantha since she loathed him and wouldn't go back on her word.
Andrea, it is not. Samantha grabbed James's hand and looked bravely into her mother's eyes, so he had to pause mid-sentence.
"There is no room for love in this home, so I must leave. I have no business killing myself at home for someone who has no intention of ever remembering me. Since I no longer need to live in a gilded enclosure, I am finally free to fly out." Samantha whispered to Peter as she kept her distance from Andrea and watched her.
With a bright grin on her face, Samantha approached Peter. She asked him if he appreciated her beauty, which astonished Andrea, but not James because he was familiar with Samantha's personality.
Peter expressed his elation and said that he fantasized about pressing her breasts in his sleep.
"Take a look at your husband's reply. The fact that you are giving this cretin your time and attention while abandoning a good-hearted man speaks volumes about the egotism with which you view the world.", Samantha said, slapping Peter viciously.
Andrea was upset because James had cheered and whistled loudly at Samantha's actions. She walked up to Samantha with her hand lifted as if to slap her.
Samantha grabbed her hand and demanded to know what legal claim she had on her, seeing as how she was unable to shield her like a mother would have had her husband not abused her and abandoned a child in a place where their hearts could not communicate.
"Leave now, Samantha. Never let your worry for them affect you negatively." With an angry expression, James remarked as he grabbed Samantha's hands.
Samantha sobbed as she hugged James and apologized for not talking to him over the twenty years she had listened to her mother hurt him with her remarks. The two were on the floor because she had tripped and fallen on his feet.
James wiped Samantha's tears with a peck on the forehead as he helped her to her feet. He told her she had every reason to celebrate her release from prison and then whisked her away.
As they left, Samantha glanced back at her mother, hoping against hope that Andrea would suddenly alter her demeanor. With tears streaming down her cheeks, she made her first trip across the house without her mother's supervision.
James realized this, and he met Samantha's weeping eyes as she spoke about her mother. He wiped her tears, held her hand in his, and promised to see her with the love she had been missing for so long. He also asked her to hold back her emotions, saying that Andrea's heart would never consider them.
After two days, James took Samantha to his home and asked if she felt at ease there.
Samantha gazed around the little abode, which seemed like bliss, then hugged James passionately.
She fought back the tears, thanked him for giving her a second chance, and gazed into his eyes with gratitude.
James greeted her with a grin and invited her to tag along. He escorted her outdoors and pointed out the full moon illuminating the night sky.
"Nowadays, you shine like the moon. Your look tells me everything: you're happy, and I can see it." James declared, handing her the gold necklace she had been saving for his medical expenses.
Samantha was taken aback to see the necklace she had worn when her mother sent her to the orphanage.
"Samantha, you won't find any metal there, just love. Because of the years you've spent wearing this necklace, I can tell how much love you have for it. You should not have to go through any more emotional pain because you failed to remember the meaning of the word "Love" in your waking life "and James entered the building.
Samantha's hand fiddles with the necklace, but her mind wanders to James, who is perpetually concerned about her well-being. Her body is reacting with a level of happiness she has never felt.
James made the meals for Samantha the following day and stored them in her room. He prompted her to take the medication on time and encouraged her to enjoy her meal.
As he was leaving, he caught a glimpse of a light in Samantha's eyes he hadn't noticed before, and he gave her another glance, which made her uncomfortable with her newfound confidence.
The alarm chimed at 9:00 AM.
After two days off, Tommy returned to his cabin before heading to the Bank. He was taken aback when he saw Samantha's name on the loan closing paperwork.
Angry, he called the bank and asked the Assistant Manager whether Samantha had come in. He was told that someone had come to release the gold Samantha had stored there and that they had removed the ornament after paying the full amount owed.
"Oh, my God!" How could you make such a blunder without telling me? What is the person's name? Did you jot down an address?" It irritated and angered Tommy so much that his question was met with silence.
When he checked the surveillance tapes and didn't see anyone from that day, he questioned the Assistant Manager. The latter explained that technical difficulties prevented the cameras from recording that day.
Tommy pounded the table angrily because he had fallen in love with Samantha but had no idea how to track her down.
