A small hug made two hearts closer

1096 Words
It was 8 o'clock in the evening, and the clock chimed. Even as she reads, Samantha's gaze never leaves the door. Then, remembering that she hadn't eaten since before breakfast the day James had departed, she turned her attention to the dinner table. After some reflection, Samantha threw the book aside in disgust at James's behavior. "How could he possibly think I could function without him? What's the holdup, then?" As she approached the front door, Samantha pondered the question. Her heart rate is rapidly increasing, and she can feel it in her legs. Finally, she grabbed the keys and left the house. She was about to turn the key when her phone began ringing. She then attempted to locate her cell phone in the automobile, but to no avail. With excitement and delight, Samantha dashed back to her room and stared at the screen. But when she saw Andrea's phone number, her joy quickly faded. Samantha ignored James and picked up the phone, her hands trembling. "Sorry, Samantha, but that alcohol costs us a lot. The Advocate and I talked. Get him to put his signature on the paperwork so the property can be transferred to my name." After that, Andrea ended the call. Samantha knew her mother's actions had distressed her brother James, and she suspected something had happened. The approaching car's noise brought her to her senses, and she dashed for the door. When Johnson arrives at the house with the documents, Samantha is taken aback. Nobody answered when she yelled the password. "Keep calm, Madam. Andrea Madam requested that I disable the security system. Thus, there is currently no protection in the home. Your drunken father will be on the road so no one will be home. It is unlikely that you are completely alone. How about I come and keep you company?" Johnson looked at Samantha with a lustful expression and bit his lower lip. Samantha avoided making eye contact with Johnson and instead pointed her fingers outside. "My stay of one night with you will be sufficient, and then I shall depart. Fear not. Nobody will ever find out." With a hearty chuckle, Johnson declared. Samantha's feet retreated, and she attempted to escape indoors. About to lock the door, she was relieved to hear James' bike approaching. Not knowing what else to do, Johnson kissed Samantha farewell with a flying smack just as James turned to look at him. Samantha sobbed on the floor, convinced that her mother still didn't understand her. James, sensing the gravity of the situation, joined Samantha at her seat. "A girl won't be censored when she shares her concerns with Mom. That choice, though, is out of your reach. This means you can't give up without a struggle. Only when you smile, not when you cry, do you appear attractive." James replied, stroking Samantha's hair affectionately. Samantha's emotions were lifted by James's comments, and she gave him a tight hug she'd been craving ever since they started talking. Samantha's hands get increasingly tight around James' shoulders as her heart skips a beat with happiness. Still, she feels a chill in her fingers as she runs them over James' shoulders, and her body craves more. James recognized Samantha as the young girl he had always secretly loved, but he was unsure of how Samantha would interpret his embrace of her. When Samantha's breasts touch James' chest, he feels an intense ferocity that makes him want to press them hard. However, he lacks the guts to do so because he is more attracted to Samantha's character and purity than her physical attractiveness. They're starting to care for one another but cannot publicly show it to one another because of Andrea. "Samantha, you didn't eat, did you?" James questioned, then met her eyes and saw the response he was looking for. "What made you think I'd eat it without you? Do you realize how much it will hurt my feelings if you come home drunk and late? You didn't believe I wouldn't hang around, did you?" Inquiring, Samantha entered the kitchen. As James had anticipated these words from Andrea for twenty years, he was at a loss for words. His eyes welled up with tears as he took in Samantha's unconditional love and concern for him. He was unsure whether it was right, but he felt a need in his heart for a love he had not experienced in a very long time. He left the tray of food on the table, and Samantha claimed she would not eat anything at the university. "Sam, I'm an alcoholic; I won't need to eat. But as a doctor, you have a responsibility to eat at the appropriate times, or else you might endanger the lives of your patients, including yourself." James responded, smiling broadly, as she inadvertently kept the pizza slice close to her mouth. He took his hand away from hers and apologized, saying he was confused as to why he found that appealing. Samantha removes the pizza slice from James's mouth and glances at the other side of it shyly when he thinks deeply about something stressful. She closed her eyes in contented shivers, but he did not bite off a chunk. Samantha asked James in dismay, "What happened to my eyes?" after peering in the mirror and realizing something was wrong. James claimed he wasn't hungry and climbed to his feet. In the garden, he gazed up at the moon adorned with stars. "If you look at the stars, I doubt you'll feel satisfied. Here, eat this slice, and you can savor the rest at your leisure." James accepted the dish of food that Samantha had just presented to him. She sat next to him and started chatting about her time at university, peppering the conversation with jokes that helped James forget the earlier insult he received at work. James's attention was immediately drawn to Samantha's cleavage as he stood up. The two of them had a lot of walls between them, yet she still wanted to get to know him on a deep level. "In my opinion, you're a playboy. Do you believe that to be true?" Samantha questioned with a grin on her face; James's reply indicated that he was not amused. "I forgot the word happy many years ago," he said. Samantha felt his words pierce her heart and realized he had missed his life. Because he was her mother's second husband, she secretly felt terrible about wanting to comfort him with a hug and a word of understanding when he needed it most.
