Samantha made a valiant attempt to enter the building but could not advance due to her legs. Her gaze instead diverted to James.
James yelled, "Samantha, please wait!" and went over to cheer her up.
She had expected him to say something to her, so his decision to go to his room was a shock. She's tensely staring into his room, wondering what's keeping him there.
After waiting a while, James went outside and pocketed the final paycheck he had received from the corporation.
What do you mean by giving me this sum?" Samantha was perplexed, but James simply told her to buy whatever she wanted with the money and then donate it to the company.
Is this a bonus or the ultimate settlement? Samantha inquired, looking directly into his eyes, and James answered with tears.
He swiveled to face the other direction and explained that Andrea loved him very much and had surprised him with a reward.
James, unable to hold back the emotions any longer, retreated to his room without more discussion with Samantha.
Inside, Samantha lay down on her bed and counted the money James had given her.
When she saw the total, she felt an inner joy she had never experienced before, unmatched by any amount of money or ostentatious jewelry.
Sam lit a candle when the power went off for a while.
Thunderstorms are howling like lions, and the winds are howling like tigers.
Samantha considered knocking on James' door but decided against it because she didn't want to wake him up. James' room was dark, so she walked in there and lit a candle.
As she turns to go, she is taken aback to see James fast asleep in only his boxers on the bed. Samantha's n*****s are tingling from the sweat on his biceps and shoulders.
She approached him and smelled the sweat falling from his shoulders after touching them. Then, with a sigh of relief, she shut her eyes and bit her bottom lip.
Samantha knelt next to him, and just as she was ready to hug him, she caught a glimpse of Andrea's picture in the flickering flame.
Due to her anxiety, she stood up and fled the room. She quickly entered and locked the room.
Samantha started crying because she had no idea how to handle the emotions she was having for James.
Experiencing a new emotion with him was something she wanted to do, but it was getting increasingly difficult to do so.
The following morning, around ten o'clock, James awoke and took stock of his surroundings. He discovered a candle in his chamber and was perplexed about how it got there.
A moment later, he sensed Samantha's presence in his room. When he called Samantha's name and opened the door, she was nowhere to be found.
A wrapped present was on the table in front of him, which he examined and eventually opened.
"For the money you gave me, I got a ring for you. It's a ring, but it's also the symbol of my joy. You'll feel better and won't forget that someone is waiting for you at home."
James stared at the letter and ring Samantha had written him and felt a surge of joy. He pretended Samantha's hands were holding the ring and kissed it.
After silently thanking her, he put on the ring of love she had given him and headed out to an interview. He was surprised when fortune smiled on him in the form of a well-paying job.
There are no limits to his joy, and he can't wait to celebrate with Samantha. So, he made a pit stop at the florist and picked up a red rose that would look great with her newly undone silky locks.
He could picture Samantha holding the red rose in her hands, and all he wanted to do was give her the flower. After making the purchase, he sped off in his car toward the university.
He wants to become a young man again for Samantha, and while he's away, his heart is enjoying the newfound delight he's been missing.
A little time later, he had arrived at the university and was inside. Yet, he is dismayed that Samantha has already dropped out of university. At first, he was overjoyed, but then he started questioning why Samantha had left without telling him.
He drove hastily to the house out of fear that something bad had happened there. He anxiously rushes inside, only to be halted at the steps by Andrea, who has already entered the house.
James took a few nervous steps backward as he searched the room for Samantha.
"As to why you're so nervous, I have no idea. Why do you think you need to do something without telling me?" Andrea demanded angrily as she hurled the papers in James's direction.
James collected the papers, happy that Andrea had no idea Samantha had been talking to him.
To Andrea's surprise, Samantha emerged from her room with a suitcase after seeing the papers.
"For what reason did you venture outside? Where exactly are you going?" Andrea's question was direct.
Samantha was startled by Andrea's voice but mustered the resolve to tell Andrea and James that she would leave the house if James left.
As much as he appreciates Samantha's insight into his emotions, he worries that Andrea may single her out for harm.
"Andrea, please tell me why you want to split up with me. Can you think of anything I could have done to upset you? You seem to be appreciating all the amenities and facilities. Exactly why, then, do you need a divorce?" James enquired and made to enter.
Andrea yelled at him that she would die if he came in, because she didn't want him to waste his time with a carefree person.
James was silent, but Samantha could be heard laughing, clapping her hands, and whistling.
Has insanity set in? Angry and serious, Andrea asked.
"I never became angry, but the topic of accountability still makes me chuckle. You own property but are unaware that a minor is now residing there; hence, adequate safety precautions are required. There is no way I would still be alive if he hadn't shown up at the right time yesterday." When James urged her to come inside, Samantha paused mid-sentence.
He ripped up the divorce papers and walked inside. He claimed he didn't want a divorce because of the consequences. He put the crimson rose on the floor and gazed at Samantha, love evident in his eyes.
He had planned to present Samantha with the flower and tell her that he had obtained a job, but events took a different turn than anticipated.
He struggled to get inside, but he went straight to bed once inside.
It was after eleven o'clock when I got home.
James is famished, but he'd rather not see Andrea again because he's familiar with her rude manner of speaking. He sipped the water and then went to bed.
When he spotted a dark shape in his bedroom, he quickly turned on the light.
"You've gone quite some time without eating. In other words, eat this and go to bed." Samantha stated, maintaining the plate on the table.
James smiled involuntarily when he noticed the red rose she was wearing in her hair while she held the plate.
Samantha hurried timidly toward the entrance, re-examining his gaze. She smiled as she left the room, having wanted to talk to him for a while but fearing for her mother.
James, relieved, threw himself into his meal without giving any thought to Andrea's insult.
