Two hearts got separated

1024 Words
James purchased some fried cashew nuts and bottles of water from the bar shop. Then he went outside and surveyed Samantha, who was standing there. Amid the torrential downpour that set their bodies on fire, she abandoned the Umbrella and clung to James. "Samantha, let's go away from here, as anyone might see," James remarked, pulling away from Samantha's embrace. Samantha dried her eyes, her tears mingled with the rain and followed James. "It's pouring outside, so why did you come? We are quite some distance from the Wedding Hall. Let's take a break and relax under the tree." James exclaimed as he made his way to a nearby tree. Under the tree, he discovered a rock, which he polished with a piece of cloth. James greeted Samantha's royal status by handing her cashew nuts and inviting her to have a seat. Samantha stared in awe and wonder at the cashew nuts, then met James' gaze. "My apologies. You can't find any food around here. As an alcoholic, I am confident that fried cashew nuts will be available at the bar store. Thus, I have brought them along." James gazed up at the clouds and said. Samantha got to her feet, holding the cashew nut close to James' mouth as tears streamed from her eyes at the thought that he would swallow the Vodka. "To wit: Samantha, what gives you such pause for sobbing? Do I make you uncomfortable in any way?" James inquired, wiping away her tears. Samantha had no idea how to express her emotions to James because she received no cues from him. James held the cashew nut in Samantha's mouth, and he moaned when she brushed his finger with her tongue. Samantha clung to James in horror as the thunder and lightning rolled in, and James' hands reached for her neck but stopped short. Samantha has a new emotion, and her lips get close to his before stopping. Despite her best efforts, she could not work up the nerve to kiss him. James is perplexed because he does not doubt that Samantha loves him, but he keeps dwelling on the distance that now separates them. As she sobbed on James's shoulder, Samantha uttered the word "FUCK." As her mouth neared him, she felt a chill down her spine. As she did so, she locked her eyes on his, and her grip on his neck grew tighter. Samantha pulled James away when she spotted the diamond her mother was wearing on his finger and continued to resist his attempts to kiss her lips. She straightened her clothing and headed out into the storm, tears falling into the shower as she walked. She questioned her odd behavior and decided she couldn't even let herself fantasize about James. James was aware of the factors that led to Samantha's departure but lacked the nerve to try to stop her. On the contrary, he chuckled as he studied the ring. "I may be Andrea's spouse, but I am not her partner, Samantha. Since day one, she had loathed me. Therefore, I had avoided touching her. So far, vodka has helped me keep my libido in check. After our conversation, though, I realized what it was in life that I had been missing." James whispered to himself as he wiped away tears from his eyes. Midnight struck on the clock. Samantha stares out the window at the clouds and falling leaves. Her heart ached to understand why her feelings for James had abruptly shifted to love, but she could not think of why. After James entered the room and called her name, she regained her composure. She wiped away her tears and asked him what he wanted. His heart was broken, but he hid his anguish by saying he'd received word that her planned marriage had been called off. "Ultimately, I opted to return independently. I'd like to get out of here as soon as possible, so please call me a taxi." Samantha asserted. James persuaded her that, upon seeing her again, Andrea could try to work out a deal. "I guess I'll just have to get married if Mom insists. If my mother insists, I will wed Johnson." Saying this, Samantha began to pack her bags. James was so shaken up by these statements that he recoiled, tears streaming down his cheeks. He hoped that Samantha would get what he was saying by the look on his face, but she did not. She finished packing and glanced at James as she called for a cab. She repressed the need to embrace him and kiss his beard passionately, instead avoiding his gaze. Realizing that Samantha was not looking at him, he walked away. "I can't bear the thought of hurting my mother again by bolting from the house. She might get jealous if she learns I'm talking to you and riding your bike to school. No longer bother trying to communicate with me. I never got to know my parents, so I had no idea what Mom might be like. The lady of the household invited me to live with her and gave me the role of her daughter. After hearing your remarks and disobeying Mom's decision, I ran away from home, and now I feel terrible about it." Samantha sobbed as she explained. James is at a loss for words; he is sobbing uncontrollably and is doing his best to hide it from Samantha. "I promise that I will never again cause you any trouble. Nonetheless, know that someone is thinking of you and that you can always reach out to me for assistance if you're struggling." James muttered as he walked out of the room, wiping away tears. After waiting for a while, Samantha emerged from the bathroom and entered the cab. She actively resisted making eye contact with James, but her gaze eventually wandered in his direction. James and Samantha's eyes locked, and they both felt a pang of longing and heaviness that kept them from breaking apart in tears. The cab rolled away from the scene slowly, distancing between the two hearts that had been igniting feelings in one another until then.
