CHAPTER 1:THE BETRAYAL
The sun hung low in the sky, casting an ominous glow over the battlefield where Son stood, a figure of radiant strength amidst chaos. Clad in armor that shimmered like gold in the fading light, he faced the four elders who had once been his allies. Betrayal clung to the air, thick and suffocating, as the elders regarded him with cold, calculating eyes. “Son, your power is too great,” the Igneel, the fire elder, said, his voice laced with disdain. “It is time to end this. You are a danger to our rule.” Son’s heart sank as he glanced at Maria, the embodiment of serenity beside him. Her long silver hair flowed like moonlight, and her eyes reflected both the kindness of the moon and the ferocity of a guardian. She stepped forward, her presence calming the surrounding tension. “Together, we have protected this realm,” Maria declared, her voice steady. “You cannot turn against us. We have fought to maintain the balance!”. But the elders had already made their choice. In a flash, they unleashed a torrent of energy—dark tendrils of power spiraling toward Son and Maria. The ground trembled as Malakar, the monstrous embodiment of chaos, broke free from his prison, summoned by the elder's villainy. A male figure emerged, a mass of shadows and hatred with an aura of energy that could kill just at the sight of it, eyes glowing with an insatiable hunger for destruction. “Vestiges, I implore you don't bore me,” Malakar roared, his voice like thunder echoing across the desolation. Son clenched his fists, drawing upon the power of the sun, a radiant aura surrounding him as he charged at Malakar. “We will not allow you to destroy everything we’ve built!” The clash was deafening. Son unleashed beams of searing light, while Maria harnessed the power of the moon, sending waves of protective energy to shield them. The ground split beneath the weight of their power, rocks shattering like glass. Yet, despite their strength, Malakar pressed forward, relentlessly. “ You're strong but not enough”. He smirked as he struck at Son, sending him crashing to the ground. The blow felt like millions of stings exploding on his face. He hadn't recovered before Malakar released a barrage of beams at Son. “SON!” Maria screamed as she rushed to his side, her power flaring as she shielded him from the onslaught. “Son, we must seal him! It’s the only way!” Maria urged, her voice filled with urgency. “If we don’t, he will destroy everything!” “Yeah”, still recovering from the beating. “ Let's end this” he agreed. With fierce determination, they combined their powers. Son’s radiant light and Maria’s protective shadows wove together in an intricate dance, forming a barrier around Malakar. Resistance was futile as it struggled against their binding, but they held firm. “We’ll make sure you don't see the light of day ever again!” Son shouted, his voice steady despite the pain coursing through him. As they channeled their strength, the air thickened with energy, crackling around them. The elders watched in horror, realizing too late the depths of their betrayal. They had unleashed a power they could not control. In one final surge, Son and Maria shouted in unison, “By the light of the sun and the grace of the moon, we seal you in the void!” With that decree, a massive void opened beneath Malakar, the darkness swirling around him as he was pulled in, his screams echoing in despair. “No… No… I'll be back, you wretched puppets, and I'll make sure you're the first to feel my wrath”. The ground trembled violently, but their combined power held firm. They poured everything they had into the seal, knowing this was their last stand. As the void sealed shut, Son fell to his knees, gasping for breath. “Maria…” he whispered, his vision blurring. She knelt beside him, placing a hand on his cheek, her eyes filled with sorrow. “We did it, Son. We sealed him away.” But the price was steep. Their powers had drained them, leaving them vulnerable. “Promise me… we will return,” Son murmured, his strength fading. “We will find each other in the next life.” “I swear it,” Maria replied, tears streaming down her face as she cradled him. “We will find our way back.” As they collapsed together, their essence intertwined as they slipped into the abyss of death, leaving behind a legacy that would be hidden from the world. Present Day A cold wind swept through the tiny iron bars into the dimly lit prison, rattling the bars that confined Jayden as he stood with both hands chained above his head while standing, as he felt no comfort. Each breath he took was heavier than the last as the chains made specially for him sapped whatever energy he had left. The sound of footsteps echoed, and the heavy door creaked open. Two figures stepped inside, cloaked in dark robes, their faces obscured by shadows. “ Sun vestige,” one of them intoned, their voice dripping with disdain. “Your time is at hand. We seek the moon vestige, and you will help us find her.” Jayden glared at them, a flicker of defiance igniting within him. His skin prickled with the power surging inside him, marked by a distinct black wolf mark on his chest—a symbol of his connection to the sun goddess. “What makes you think I'd help you guys? You’re the ones who betrayed your kind. You destroyed lives and wiped families from the face of this world all for what?" he screamed. A flash of annoyance crossed the elder’s face. “You do not understand the stakes, boy. The moon vestige is out there, and it was not a request you'll understand soon enough.” He assured Jayden. A look of disgust covered his face. “You're monsters, and I'll make sure to put an end to it”. As the elders left the cell and the heavy doors closed. Jayden’s heart raced as his dark orange eyes glowed with both hatred and anxiety. He had felt a stirring within him, a connection to something greater than himself. But the idea of being used by these traitorous elders filled him with dread. Meanwhile, in a Hidden Grove The moon hung heavy in the night sky, casting long shadows through the trees as Bella walked further into the woods, her breath fogging in the night air. She was supposed to be celebrating her eighteenth birthday, she needed space away from the pack, away from the constant reminders of her inability to transform like the others. “Happy birthday, Bella,” she muttered bitterly to herself, kicking a fallen branch aside. “ Eighteen and still a failure”. The weight of the mark on her chest felt heavier tonight. She absentmindedly ran her fingers over it, the cursed mark that branded her as an outcast. “The others in the pack had transformed long before their eighteenth birthdays,” she thought. “ They were strong, proud, ready to serve the pack” she continued. “But me? She said “No wolf, no strength — just the cursed mark”. Her footsteps quickened, her anger bubbling to the surface. “ Maybe I don't want to belong”. Suddenly, she stopped, her breath catching in her throat as a strange feeling washed all over her. The air around her seemed to thicken. “What….. What's happening? Bella gasped, placing a hand on her chest as a sudden pressure built within her as the mark began to glow with a hollow light – silver, alive, burning against her skin. Her heart raced, and it felt like electricity was flowing through her veins. She stumbled forward, her knees buckling. “ No…. this can't be…. What is going on? The pressure built until she could barely breathe. Without warning, a burst of energy erupted from her body, sending a shockwave outward. Trees trembled, the ground shook, and Bella was thrown to the floor. She gasped for air, wide-eyed and terrified. Her hair, once dark, was now glowing silver, glowing faintly under the moonlight. “ What's happening…. to me ?” She whispered, her voice barely audible. Her vision blurred, the world around her spinning. She tried to stand, but her legs wouldn't support her. “ Please…. someone….” She whispered weakly, her voice fading along with her consciousness. And then silence.
