Chapter T-9 part 2

As she reached out, she first grabbed a towel that was faintly damp, before reaching a teensy bit further to grab the next one available. Thankfully, that one seemed completely dry, and she quickly dried off and put her hair up in it. She bit her lip as she realized that she didn't bring her clothes, and had to face her choices; either continue to cover up, or bring it with her as she walked around naked. She bundled it up, and used it cover up, at least partly. She quickly unlocked the door, then walked over to the bedroom, shooting glances around to watch out for him. However, she didn't have to be that unaware of where he was; he'd made his side of the bed, and was now fully dressed while lying on top of his comforter, doing something on his phone. He looked up as she came in, and sent her a short smile, then returned his attention to his phone. She was glad he did so, giving her at least an ounce of privacy. "Did you have a nice shower?" She nodded, then carefully placed the duvet on the bed, finally exposing herself as she quickly turned around and threw on the dress. She looked around as she only found the dress. "Uhh, have you seen my underwear?" He sighed slightly and put the phone in his trouser pocket. "Yeah, about that... I think you, uh lost them." Kate stared at him, not understanding. "You threw your bra at one of your friends, and I think you lost your panties on the drive here." She stared at him as she could feel that she was about to blush again, then said: "... oh." in a small voice. He got out of the bed as they heard a knock on the door. He gently touched her arm, then smiled at her. "Don't worry, I'll set you straight after we've eaten breakfast." It was a nice meal. Probably the nicest meal she'd eaten in her life up until that point. The order itself wasn't fancy, but there was a certain air about it that made it seem expensive, and she suddenly felt a bit bad that he seemed to have ordered food like that. Just for her. Well also for himself, but that he’d even offered to buy her that… Besides, the fact that he’d tipped the person who brought up the food a big bill of some kind without them even blinking at the amount also aided in making it feel ~exclusive~. After they'd eaten (now definitely the best food Kate had ever tried, but that could've just been the hangover talking) Chris rose up, leaving behind his plate. "The cleaning services are gonna take it, don't worry." he said with a smile as she started to gather their plates. She got a bit of a thin line for a smile. "Yes, well, no need to have them work extra just because we can't stack the plates on top of each other, right?" He'd gotten a puzzled look on his face, then nodded ever so slowly, as if this was news to him. After she'd done this, she also stood up. "So, do you just have a ton of underwear lying around, since you'd, ahem, 'set me straight'?" she asked, making the air quotes at the last part. He shook his head no. "I was actually thinking I'd go with you to buy some new ones. I do feel partly responsible, after all." He sent her a wolfish grin, which she actually found a bit unsettling. But sure, she could spend some of his money, if that was what he was into. "Alright. I'm ready to go when you are." He nodded, and walked towards the door, pausing there while she put on her shoes. She grimaced slightly when she felt her feet ache. She was still sore after having used them all night last night, and she didn't usually wear heels in the first place. She had no intention of showing her discomfort off, especially not in front of him. So she rose up, took a few steps, then nearly took a tumble as her balance failed her. He quickly grabbed her by the waist, making sure she got back on her feet. He didn't say anything as he helped stabilize her, then offered her an arm so she had something to lean on. Begrudgingly, she uttered a 'thanks' before they left the room. The hotel was absurd in the silent extravagance it showed. She suddenly understood the saying 'money talks, wealth whispers'. Sending her escort a short glance, she decided he was definitely more of the first half. None of them spoke on the elevator ride, and it was only when they got into a cab standing outside the lobby (Chris had opened her car door), that he opened his mouth to say "just get us downtown, please". Kate looked at him, suddenly sensing a bit of confusion. "You're not from around here, are you? Just get us to the main square." The driver nodded, and they were off. Chris sent her a short look. "How did you know that I'm from out of town?" he asked, a faint smile on his lips. She shrugged. "No one calls it downtown. We usually reserve that for the bar street." He nodded, taking a look out the window. "Good to know. I'll try to remember." Kate smiled, giving her a bit more colour into her face. She was slowly getting back into control.
