A Griffin's Voice: Finding Her Path

Chapter 6

Dean

Dean’s P.o.V.

I got up early the next morning after barely sleeping due to excitement and anxiety about my date today. I quickly shower and let Thorn out for a flight around the kingdoms. An hour later, I am standing outside of the young griffin royals’ door.

I knock gently and a moment later, Fox opens the door. “Good morning, Dean. Come on in.” I walk in and chuckle as I see Avalon sitting on the couch and Fawn dead asleep in the bed. “What can I do for you royals this morning?”

“Well, like I said last night, Fox, I do want to know what happened yesterday,” Avalon softly says.

“So would I,” I mutter softly as I settle down on the couch next to Avalon. Fox is on the bed next to his sister.

“So, after we all talked a little bit, we came up to the room to do some online shopping before shifting and flying into town to walk around. Well, our parents barged in and started to yell at us about everything at breakfast. And well, you know what happened next. We got punished with ten thousand push-ups. Which is barely anything when it comes to a griffin shifter, but normally there is a warmup and there just wasn’t.”

I nod and so does Avalon as we think it through. It is heartbreaking to know that they were punished for simply asking a question and then being defended.

I clear my throat gently. “So, Fox……we didn’t get to talk to you about our plans for you during the dates. We want to give you experiences as well and to show you the world as well. So, we plan on doing stuff with you during our dates with Fawn. Today, during my date with your sister……my friends are going to game with you and show you different games on the Xbox and PlayStation. What are some things that you think you would like?”

“Oh, I don’t know. Gaming. Hiking. Training. Camping. I really don’t know. Paintball maybe. Just watching TV and movies. Like my sister, I am really very easy and chill.”

“During Archer’s date, we go hiking. During Avalon’s, we can play paintball. During Carter’s, we can do some training. During Seth’s, we can chill inside and watch TV and movies,” I murmur softly not wanting to wake up the young princess.

“We want to take you and your sister camping at some point here soon. When we do the dates and trips around our kingdoms, we want you to join us as well. We want to show you the world just like we want to do for your sister,” Avalon softly says. “Let’s go get breakfast and bring it up for Fawn. I am sure by then that Seth, Carter, and Archer will be up and here ready for breakfast.”

The three of us head down and get french toast, bacon, and sausage ready for breakfast. We head back up with enough food for the seven of us and find Archer, Seth, and Carter waiting outside the door.

Seth looks up from his phone and chuckles before grabbing a platter from us. “Is Fawn still sleeping? We tried knocking and got no answer.”

Fox chuckles and shakes his head. “My sister sleeps like the dead and is a nightmare to wake up. I might be lucky enough that the smell of food may wake her up. Otherwise, I am going to have a bear of a sister until this afternoon when she finally becomes Dean’s issue for the rest of the day.”

We laugh as Fox has to wake his bear of a sister who beats him and throws her plate of food and his plate of food at him. We laugh even harder when she stomps, grumbling like a bear, to the bathroom. Fox simply rolls his eyes. “Great. It is going to be a great day,” Fox sarcastically says.
