A Griffin's Voice: Finding Her Path

Chapter 9

Archer

Archer’s P.o.V.

I wake up and instantly show and get ready for my date with my tiny angel. I then grab the presents that I have for her and put them on my dresser so that I can easily give them to her before we head out. I whistle happily as I stroll out of my bedroom.

I knock on the twins’ door and can hear them laughing along with Seth inside. I chuckle and walk in. “Good morning, Seth and Fox. Angel, you look radiant this morning like always.” And she really does. She is in a pair of shorts and a tank top. A very simple outfit, but it looks amazing on her. “What are you doing up so early, Seth?”

He turns and looks at me. “I went to do some training this morning and ran into these two young griffins. We trained together and are now just waiting on the other three to get up for breakfast. Fox and Fawn are wondering if we can go out to eat this morning.”

I look at the young princess with bright, excited eyes. “Where would you like to go, Angel?”

“Ummmmm……Anywhere is fine with us. Seth was telling us something about a restaurant called The Basking Wolf? He said that they have amazing breakfast there,” she whispers as she looks down.

Orion’s ears perk up as he lifts his head to stare out of my eyes at her. His tail wags slightly, signaling that he is happy that she wants to experience something from our kingdom. “It is an amazing restaurant. It is owned by some close canis friends of my parents. I would love to take you and the others out to breakfast there this morning. Just need to wait for Carter, Dean, and Avalon to get up.”

Fox looks over at me. “Dude, what time are you and my sister heading out?”

“I am thinking about heading out after we get back from breakfast if she wants, otherwise whenever. I don’t have any reservations until 7 tonight. Oh! Also, tonight you and the others will be joining us, Fox. Seth will explain later to you.”

Fox nods as he goes back to joking around with Fawn. I chuckle as I watch them with love filled eyes. I sigh and dive into the back of my mind into the space that I share with Orion. My wolf is sitting on a rock overhanging the pond. Orion, do you think she will enjoy our date tonight?

I think she will really love it Archer especially since we intend to make our Asmurg trip similar to it. Just spend today relaxing on the beach, building a sand castle, and swimming with her. She will enjoy talking to you as well.

I would love that, Archer. Thank you for thinking of me in this.

Not a problem, my wolf. I draw out of the link and back to the present. I look up and notice that Carter and Avalon have suddenly appeared. “You know I wasn’t talking with Orion for more than two minutes and suddenly you two show up. I see how it is.”

We all start laughing as Dean walks in yawning. We all laugh even more. “Dude, we are going to The Basking Wolf this morning for breakfast,” Carter murmurs softly. “You ready to head out?”

“I guess so,” Dean mutters softly. “I just woke up and am still in the process of waking up.”

“We can tell,” Avalon mutters back. “Come on. Let’s go get coffee and breakfast. Let’s enjoy our morning together, so that Archer can take the griffin princess out on his date.”

We all chuckle as we get up and head out to get breakfast. We walk out of the castle grounds and down the main street of the town. We walk into a small café called The Basking Wolf. I look at Fawn and Fox. “This is a small family owned café that can be found across most of Asmurg and one or two within the island of Castle of the Kings.”

Fox’s P.o.V.

We all settle down at a table for the seven of us. We joke and laugh as we order our food and drinks. Fawn and I both order coffee and waters. I get the waffles with blueberries and she gets the waffles with strawberries.

We all joke around and talk as we eat. I tune into a story that Dean is telling about Archer and Avalon. “……They were so embarrassed when we gave them the dare to kiss. Both were pale white and bright red at the same time. BUT they went through with the dare! Neither of them could look at each other for a week afterwards!”

“Yeah, but we got you back the next time we played truth or dare,” Avalon retorts. He looks over at Fawn. “We dared Dean to kiss a toad the next time we played. He did it like a good sport but washed his mouth out with soap afterwards.”

Fawn and I are laughing so hard at these stories. “What else have you clowns down,” my sister giggles out.

“Wouldn’t you like to know, Princess? You will just have to wait and find out in due time,” Carter responds with a wink at her. I chuckle and shake my head.

I drift into the back of my mind as I lean back in my seat. I go into the space that Maximus and I have created. I see Maximus laying on a rocky cliff. Well, Maximus……I think we will have brothers-in-laws soon. I like these princes.

So do I, Fox. So do I. We will make an amazing empire once we take over. Not only will we have the griffin empire, but we will have the aide of the dragon, panthera, vulpine, canis, and vampire kingdoms as well. I still don’t entirely understand what our parents are getting from this alliance……but I am seeing an easy way to overthrow our parents. It is time for new griffin rulers.

I agree, but we must talk to Fawn and Mystery about this before we bring the princes into this.

Fawn and Mystery want to overthrow our parents just as much as we do. They will agree. Which means the princes and their parents will agree. They have seen the corruptness of the griffin kingdom. I am sure they will be eager to implement new rulers that want a different future for the kingdom of Ablaria.

I don’t know, Maximus. I will talk to Fawn tonight. We will make sure that a plan gets set in motion here soon enough. I promise, Maximus. Maximus is right. These princes and their parents will likely support us in a war against our parents, but first Fawn and I need to talk.

I look at my sister and smile as she laughs happily at the princes and their stories. I sigh with a loving look at her. I can’t ruin her day right before a date. We can’t have this serious of a discussion right now. It isn’t the time nor the place. Tonight, after she gets home, we can talk.
