Chapter 5

Getting to Know the Princes (1 out 2)

Avalon’s P.o.V.

I hate how badly my mate, and her brother are treated. They are so sweet and gentle. She might not be my fated mate, but I am thrilled that I am choosing her as my mate. She is just so sweet, kind, honest, and loyal. I am hoping that Fawn will allow us to mark and mate her within time. I just have to be patient and make her see how much I love her.

I am currently sitting down on the larger sectional couch between Archer and Dean. Carter and Seth are sitting on the floor in front of us for some odd reason. But whatever. To each their own. I just don’t understand why they aren’t sitting on the couch with us. I mean, we can all easily fit on the couch with extra room. All five of us have questions for our precious little mate. We want to make sure that our dates are perfectly tailored to her, so she enjoys them.

Jackal and I have already planned our date out, but we want to make sure she will enjoy it. We want to take her roller skating at the indoor rink. We are planning on renting out the entire alley for the date. We just need to figure out dinner and see if there is anything else that we can do to make it even better for her.

I know that roller skating is an odd first date, but I love to roller skate. I honestly regret not telling her that last night when I was introducing myself. I don’t understand why I didn’t……other than the fact that I was afraid of what she would think of me. I need to start talking to her more and opening up to her. I want this to work so badly.

Dean’s P.o.V.

I stare at my beautiful mate and when she finally glances at me, I wink at her as flirtatiously as possible. I chuckle as she rolls her eyes at me, so I offer her a smile as I stare longingly and lovingly at her.

She is sitting next to her brother on the smaller sectional. Well actually she is sitting with her feet in his lap. I watch as he rubs her feet as they both look at us waiting for one of us to speak.

Thorn and I have set up a fool proof plan to win her over on this date that my mom set up for us. I am going to have to thank my mom later or at least at some point. But seeing how happy she is to have her feet being rubbed right now……well it has me thinking about adding something for her.

Thorn and I want to do a cliché first date. Simple, yet romantic. Dinner and a movie. A nice restaurant and a cold movie theater. Then we can talk during dinner and hopefully cuddle during the movie. Honestly, my dragon loved the idea the minute that I shared it with him. A chance to cuddle her? He was completely down for it even if the rest of the idea bored the life out of him and made him fall asleep while I was telling him.

Thorn is pushing for us to go see the new horror movie that is playing right now. I am not completely sure about that, but then I realize why he wants that movie. She will be terrified, and we will definitely get to cuddle her. It would give me a chance to show her that I will always protect her. It is perfect! Now, I really can’t wait for this date!

Archer’s P.o.V.

A date night or day for each of us to spend some alone time with our tiny angel. This sounds absolutely perfect! I am thinking that it might be a good idea to do a group date as well, but I don’t want to leave Fox alone either. His parents might take advantage of that. But it would be a chance for all of us to bond with her alone and together. It would really strengthen our bonds with her and each other. I mean, we weren’t ever planning on sharing a mate until this opportunity presented itself.

Orion even gave me a great idea for our date. A beach day with a picnic. I want to make it more romantic though. I am intending to find a private beach that has a reef on it. I want to let her experience something new. I want her to experience the world, and it will be a fun first experience for her. I also just want to show her a good time and spoil her. This will be a perfect chance to do that.

Seth’s P.o.V.

Carter and I are easily the most romantic guys out of the five of us princes. I mean, Archer is up there on the list, but Dean and Avalon are pretty oblivious. I will be making sure that I outdo Carter for this date, though. I have to make sure that I outdo him. Major is in complete agreement as well.

Major and I have already decided on what we want to do with her. I know that Dean will take a classic approach, because he is a classic dude. I know that Avalon will likely take her roller skating, because he absolutely loves roller skating. Archer and Carter, I am less certain about, but I am sure that they will take different approaches than any of us. Me? I am going to take a classic approach with a twist.

My sweetheart of a mate has very little experience with music and TV and……well literally everything. So, I am wanting to have a movie night with her, but I want to do it outside. It will just be a nice quiet, relaxing evening for the two of us. A movie night under the stars is all I want with her. I will set up a table with snacks and drinks. Popcorn. Candy. Pop. Water. Juices. Chips. Really anything that catches my attention that I think my sweetheart will like. I will make sure to setup a tent, blankets, pillows, projector, screen, and anything else I can think of. I am just hopeful that my idea might even earn me the first kiss from her. A guy can dream!

Carter’s P.o.V.

My very first date! Okay, I mean I have been on dates before, but this is the first one that matters. The first one I am excited for. The first date that I am putting any effort into. I am so excited about this! Atlas is even excited!

I have been wanting to show her just how romantic that Atlas and I can be and have a great time. Atlas is wanting this to be fun and outdoors. So, I have something in mind that will show her all four things that are important to me on this date. Fun. Romance. A great time. Outdoors. I mean, I know that fun and a great time are literally the same exact things but try telling Atlas that.

I am planning on taking her horseback riding and having a picnic. I even have a destination in mind! I want to take her to the Lost Ruins for the picnic and explore them a little bit with her afterwards. This is completely outdoors. Check one. Horseback riding is really romantic. Check two. It is definitely going to be a fun adventure with the hiking. Check three. And since I need a fourth thing……well I am thinking of maybe getting our nails done or going bowling. Check four.

It should be a grand old time for us. Atlas is even hoping that I introduce him to her. He wants to spend a little time with her. Whether in human form where he is forward or in fox form. Maybe she will even introduce me to her griffin spirit, Mystery. I really can’t wait for this!

Fox’s P.o.V.

All five of the princes are just staring at us……Well, they are more so staring at my sister than me, but still it feels like I am being stared at as well. It is a little unsettling. It is pretty unnerving and ridiculous! My sister is not a piece of meat for them to drool over! Pretty much all of them are looking at her like they just want to devour her whole. This is sickening!

I sigh and clear my throat to try to get their attention. Instantly, all five look at me with curious eyes. “Look……I am not trying to be mean here, but you five need to stop looking at my sister like she is a piece of meat that you five get to drool and fight over. It is ridiculous and she deserves better. You five also need to get to planning these dates and letting her know tonight who will be first. So please save the major questions for those dates. For now, is there anything that you five need to ask to set up these dates? If so, this is your chance to ask as we won’t be around most of the day. She wants to go shopping and we want to let our griffins out.”

All five laugh softly at this, Avalon recovers first, and he looks at my sister. “Darling, do you like to shop?”

“I love to shop. I usually have to drag Fox with me and make him suffer through the shopping spree. Thankfully, he is a really good sport about it. Normally, he tries his best to convince me to just do online shopping. At least it is still a form of shopping though.” She looks up at me and pouts. I roll my eyes at her. Dramatic little sister! At least she knows that I will always love her.

“We would love to take you whenever you want to go, Angel. For as long as you want as well. But your brother is right. We need to ask you some questions so that we can set out dates up. I just have three questions for you. My first question, how would you feel about doing a group date after our individual dates,” Archer tentatively asks.

“I would love to do that, but I have a few concerns. First, would you five have time for that? I mean I don’t want to take you five away from your duties for too long. Second, I don’t really want to leave Fox here on his own.” I smile at my sister. She is so considerate. She will make a great queen if these princes can win her allegiance as queen.

We would make time for you, Angel. Any time you want to do something we would make sure to make all the time in the world for it.” Archer quickly reassures her. “As for your brother, we will make sure that he is safe. So, I am going to make my next two questions easy and quick. My second question, is there anything in particular you would enjoy having for a picnic?”

“I mean, I have never gone on a picnic, but I have heard that people do like sandwiches or a fire with hotdogs. So, I guess one of them with chips. Maybe something sweet with it? I am not picky at all. Griffins learn to adapt easily. I will be happy with whatever you each plan,” my sister quietly says. I can tell that the princes are making her a little shy. It is so cute! “I am a very simple female you will come to find out, Archer.”

“Perfect! My last question, would you enjoying painting at all do you think?”

“I mean, I would if I was doing it with one of you or my brother. Alone though? Not really.”

That is perfectly fine! Thank you so much, Angel!”

Avalon leans towards her with a small smile. “Darling, like Archer I don’t have much to ask you. Just one thing really, because my other questions have already been answered. Actually, I might have two! My first question is the most important to me though. Do you know how to roller skate?”

“No, Avalon.”

“That is actually perfect!” Avalon fully smiles and it is a wide smile. It almost seems kind and open. “My other question is just a somewhat random on. Are there any types of food you don’t like?”

“Not that I can really think of no. I am always open to trying new things no matter what they are. I also will rarely complain even if I don’t like it. I will still eat it.”

“You don’t have to do that at all, Darling. We want to know if you don’t like something, so we won’t make you eat something you don’t like. It is as simple as just not making it anymore. You are very important to us. And we want to make you happy. We want you to be happy.” I am actually starting to like Avalon as he shows us who he really is. It is a small piece of progress, but progress is progress no matter how small. It will just take time for him to open up to us more. But at least I know that he isn’t as bad as he likes to act like he is.

“Is there any food that you really love to eat, Beautiful,” Dean asks as if he is trying to grab her attention.

“I guess I would have to say probably seafood or pasta. But like I said, I don’t really care what you all decide to do for food. I am just happy that you are all trying to make it a good time and putting the work into it.”

Dean smiles and winks at her. “It doesn’t matter to us either, Beautiful. We want to make these dates perfect for you, though. And that includes food. Seafood and pasta sound perfect……just like you.” Yup, he is definitely a flirt.

My sister blushes and looks down as Dean finishes talking. All six of us males chuckle at her. I am about to intervene when Seth comes to her aide first. “Ignore him, Sweetheart. Pay attention to me. I won’t embarrass you at all. Please, look at me.”

Fawn looks up and over into the bright blue eyes of this blonde heartbreaking panthera. At least from what I have heard, he breaks hearts of females constantly. So, I am almost certain that he has broken plenty of heart……even without the rumors. “How can I help you, Seth,” my sister sweetly asks him.

“Are there any certain sweets that my little sweetheart prefers?”

“I am not entirely certain, but I do like the idea of sweets. I just have never gotten to try any. It goes against griffin culture.”

“That is perfectly fine, Sweetheart. I can’t wait to spoil you on our date and every day after that. You are absolutely perfect for us and gorgeous if I might say. But I do have one more very important question. Would you enjoy a relaxing spa appointment with me?”

“I think I would, yeah.”

“Perfect. Thank you for your time, Sweetheart.”

I chuckle as I see how hard my sister is blushing. I thought this damn prince said he wasn’t a flirt and wouldn’t embarrass her? Great Goddess! These princes are impossible already. They are saying all the right things to win both her heart over and my acceptance of them. Damn these princes!

Finally, Carter smiles at her while he chuckles softly. “So, Princess, I don’t really have any questions for you besides one. Would you enjoy going bowling or getting you nails done more?”

“Nails!” I chuckle at her excited squeal.

“Nails it is! I am so excited about our date. I am super excited about this entire experience with you. I can’t wait to see where it leads us all too. Do you have any questions for us, Princess?”

“A couple yeah. Ummmmm……Do you princes’ have an order in mind for these dates yet?”

“We don’t yet. We will let you know tonight as soon as we know! But it will be six straight days of dates. Including dates with Fox, I guess. We will make sure he is entertained the entire day with the rest of us and we will figure something out for our group date.”

“Thank you, Carter. I have only one other question. What should I wear for each of these dates?”

“We will have something ready for you for each of our dates. We do need to go talk and get our dates ready, though, Princess. Thank you so much for answering our questions. Enjoy shopping with your brother. We will talk with you after dinner about the date order.” All five of the princes stand up together and quietly leave the living room with sad expressions. I chuckle realizing that they wanted more time with my sister.
