Amid the vibrant pulse of New York City, where the skyline seems to touch the stars and dreams take flight without constraints, Emily's fierce independence finds itself on a collision course with the world of William, a man tethered by the weight of his family's legacy.

A seemingly forgotten agreement between their parents emerges like a ghost from the past, thrusting them into an unexpected and strategic engagement that upends the trajectories they had envisioned for their lives.

In "Engaged by Accord," the narrative delves deep into the complex interplay of obligation versus desire, where the weight of tradition clashes with the soaring ambitions of modern life. Theirs is a story etched against a backdrop of towering skyscrapers that cast long shadows on their evolving relationship.

As the tale unfolds, the question lingers: Can a marriage born out of strategic necessity find its way to genuine passion? Within the high society of New York, where the past's promises confront the future's desires, "Engaged by Accord" invites readers on a journey where the heart's compass may lead to a destination unexpected, where love, against all odds, might just discover its own path.

The Beginning
Emily's Pov: "Finally," I opened the door to my new apartment. It took a while to get this place, but with what I have, this is the best I could get, and it's closer to the Firm. I just have to take one train from here, and I should get there in time. I packed most of my things inside, and the house wasn't too shabby. Oh, my bad. My name is Emily Anderson. I moved to NYC (New York City) a year ago, and soon I will have enough money to get a green card. I have been saving up, and things have been looking really nice for me. So, hopefully, this house will be the beginning of big things for me. I finally arranged everything, well, most of it, at least the important things. You can't judge me. Okay? I'm trying. I made my bed and went to have my night bath. I removed my work clothes from the pile and went to bed. The next day "OMG!" I woke up a bit late, but that shouldn't matter. I can do this. I dressed and packed all the things I needed. Alright, that's all. That's all? Am I forgetting something? Nah, I'll be fine. I locked the door and ran. I ran until I couldn't recognize where I was. What the f**k? Where am I? Gosh! I think I'm lost. Yes, my phone. An hour later Alright. Maybe if I sneak in, I'll be able to enter unnoticed. So, I tried to blend in as much as I could. "Emily!!! Where have you been? They're on their way," Linda said. By the way, Linda is like my boss, but we're cool. "The big CEO guy you need to pitch to?" "Yes, obviously. Now bring out the plans I sent you. You're going to present it, and if we get the funding, I'll excuse your tardiness." Then she ran downstairs to greet the CEO. The plans are in my bag. But first, I need to check the conference room. I ran to the conference room, which was on the top floor. Everything is set. I reached into my bag to retrieve the plans, and I kept searching. f**k. That's what felt weird. I forgot them. William Pov: "You're fired!" Sigh. This job gets harder every day. It's really tough playing the bad guy, right, Fred? "Master William, I know being strict isn't the easiest thing to do, judging by how calm you are, but you need to set an example for the other employees. Your dad built something great, and it's the only way you can run it without ruining everything." I know Fred is right, but that doesn't make it easier. I'm supposed to visit a firm tomorrow. This job is crazy. Oh, hi. My name is William Fernandez, heir to the Titanix company. But my dad is old, and I've been managing everything here by myself. Well, not alone. I have an AI. His name is Fred. I have a hard time socializing, and I really don't trust people. Not after what happened. Never again. "Master William, I think sighing too much might cause a problem." "I'm just too stressed for this, okay?" I cleared everything I needed because I'm going to the fashion design firm directly tomorrow. So, I'll get my checkbook and my pen. That's all I need, I think. The next day "Alright, Fred, I'll need your help today. Listen to everything. I'll connect you to the pod, so feel free to offer some advice, okay?" "Yes, Master, I'll do my best to be of service." An hour later I stepped out of the car and saw a lady smiling at me. She seemed nice, albeit a bit creepy. "Hello, sir. My name is Linda. We've been expecting you. Please follow me." I nodded. I really don't want to show weakness, so I'll try to talk as little as possible. I followed her, and we entered an elevator. "Sir, this firm was founded not too long ago, but we've been able to employ the best. I think you'll be pleased to know that we made triple our capital last month. Our workers are diligent and..." She was interrupted by one of her workers, who seemed anxious. Reader Pov: Emily pulled Linda into her office. "Can't you see I'm in the middle of something?" Linda snapped, shaking off Emily's grasp. "I... I forgot the plan," Emily murmured. "You what?!" Linda's face darkened. "I forgot the plan,” Emily repeated, louder. "f**k, wait. You're going to go in there and deliver the best presentation, or you lose your job." Linda then walked out. Emily paused for a moment, gathering her composure before following. She entered the boardroom and did her best to explain the company plan without visual aids. Just as she was wrapping up, William stood up. William’s POV: She's doing well, I thought. "Master William, she isn't. Everything is unorganized. We can't trust them with our money," Fred interjected. I nodded to myself. "I've heard everything. I'll take my leave now," I announced, beginning to walk out. Linda tried to stop me, "Sir, please. We weren't fully prepared today. Can we reschedule?" I paused. "I'm sorry. You should have been more prepared. If your company is this careless, I can't trust you with our funds. There won't be a next time. Good day." I left and headed for my car. Emily Pov: Fuck. I'm screwed. Linda walked in, her face cold and distant. "Emily, you've just cost us everything. I can't stand to look at you right now. Leave and don't come back to this firm without that sponsorship." "But I don't know where to start. I don't even know who he is. I can be clumsy, but you know how much I love this firm. I'm your best designer," I protested. "No. I'm done. Leave. His name is William from the Titanix Company. Now, LEAVE!" Linda yelled. Defeated, I packed my belongings and left the building. As I walked home, my phone rang. "Mom? What does she want?" I answered the call, "Hi, Mom." "Emily, we've found you a husband."
