Cain ended up taking Mina by the hand and letting her follow behind him as he tracked his way through his family home one last time. Perhaps family home might not be the right thing to call it but it was the closest thing he had ever known. Sure, he didn’t get along with all of them, something he attributed to his appearance, but there were those who had been good to him. He couldn’t exactly blame them for being afraid of him. He could see how someone might find him scary. In fact, he was just waiting for the girl’s shock to wear off for the terror to set in. It was surprising enough that she hadn’t tried to pull from his grip already.
