“Kinley, I don’t want to go to school in Omaha.” Kat’s anger was all that kept her from crying. “I don’t want to live with people I don’t know. People I’ve never met.”
“It’ll be okay, Kat.” I wanted to hug her, but she was across the table, so I remained glued to my chair next to Kinley. Emma, who sat next to my sister, put a hand on her shoulder. “We’ll both go with you and help you get settled. It’ll only be for a semester.”
